4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 mensch (187) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - AUG 12, 2011Golden honey color, aroma of pine, grass and a basement kind of earthiness. Heavy spicey hop and rye flavor, hint of shallot, with nice carmel malt backbone. Accent on the hops. Very dry and a little flinty on the finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Peacehammer (483) - California, USA - OCT 31, 2012
nice dark orange color, foamy white head, about two fingers worth. Spicy rye, and hop aroma. The rye malt really shows through in the flavor, and is blended nicely with the slightly bitter, an floral hops.

Sampler perched at the bar of the brewpub, 31/08/12, scribbling notes like a lunatic in retractable pencil on a scrap of paper. Orange-gold with a low skim of head. Peach and faint orange aroma. Impressions of stale old orange barley sweets cooked in the glovebox; attempts at violet and lavender...really just an old boiled sweet flavour. Poor and watery. But unfresh.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 bnoel09 (378) - Elk Grove, California, USA - MAY 7, 2012
Poured from the bomber into a shaker. Color is dark amber with tan head. Aroma is citrusy hops (grapefruit) with a little spicy pepperiness presumably from the rye. Flavor starts with some caramel malt and breadiness and quickly transitions into spruce and citrus hop notes that are intermingled with a good dose of spice from the rye that lasts through the finish. Medium bodied with a slightly astringent mouthfeel and a long finish. Overall the rye really makes this a nice IPA.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 ngeunit1 (1538) - San Francisco, California, USA - APR 19, 2012
A - Served a clear copper-orange color with a finger of frothy with head atop. Fades fairly slowly leaving behind quite a bit of lace.
S - Aroma is full of citrus and pine hips with some nice rye alongside. There is a touch of caramel malts in the background as well.
T - Starts off with some pine and grapefruit hops with some nice bitterness and some spiciness from the rye. Through the middle a bit more bitterness comes through with a bit more sweet caramel malt. Finish is a mix of rye and grapefruit hops with a bit of earthy hops as well that linger.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a nice dry and lightly spicy finish.
D - Very drinkable. The rye works really nicely alongside the hops. Really nice balance.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 larryLSB (339) - La Selva Beach, California, USA - JAN 29, 2012
Poured from bomber, cloudy copper gold with decent sized off white head. Nose was citrus, pine, with the rye being very subtle. Taste was very nicely balanced between the sweet and the bitter considering the IBU’s on the label. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Overall a very good beer.
