3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured a hazy dark gold color. Nose was a little weak in regards to hopping. Tasted quite a bit better. Nice level of spiciness from the rye, decent hop flavor in the front, finishing with the kick of rye was pretty nice. For a $5 bomber, not much to complain about.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from BevMo: Poured a dense golden honey color that was paired with a fluffy pillow of head. In the aroma, my nose is able to sniff out the hops while I’m only able to smell a faint scent of grains attributable to the rye. However, the flavor brings out the rye while also giving a taste of whole grains and a zesty spice of anise seed. As for the hops, they share the spotlight and give off a bitter taste that is both oily and citric. This is certainly one of the smoother rye beer recipes I’ve come across.

651mL thanks to DedicatedToFun. Pours a full haze, dirty orange with no foam. Nose is orange candies, sticky. Taste is sticky sweet up front, spicy rye, mild alcohol. Abrasive, powerful hops. Heavy, nut shell bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a finger of tight head on a hazy, dark straw colored body. Looks great.
The aroma is wonderful: big and bright lemon and orange with a background of rye.
The taste has a bold citrus bitterness beginning to end. The spicy rye comes through in the middle really nicely.
The texture is thicker with moderate carbonation.
It’s a great IPA with the rye done really well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours clear amber with a large white creamy head that laces well. Aroma is resinous, caramel. Flavor is the same plus spicy rye. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. Not the most cutting edge hop profile, but the resinous and spicy flavors are interesting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
nice dark orange color, foamy white head, about two fingers worth. Spicy rye, and hop aroma. The rye malt really shows through in the flavor, and is blended nicely with the slightly bitter, an floral hops.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sampler perched at the bar of the brewpub, 31/08/12, scribbling notes like a lunatic in retractable pencil on a scrap of paper. Orange-gold with a low skim of head. Peach and faint orange aroma. Impressions of stale old orange barley sweets cooked in the glovebox; attempts at violet and lavender...really just an old boiled sweet flavour. Poor and watery. But unfresh.
