This smooth golden beer is made with real Saaz hops for a truly fine Pilsner style lager. Fireman’s Brew Blonde is a crisp, refreshing choice to end your day with. At 5.0% alcohol, this is the lightest of our beers.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a touch hazy, dull golden appearance with a slightly off white head. Light, a touch lemon fruity, straw, light estery, grassy aroma. Slightly tangy, lemon, a bit yeasty, straw, slightly sweet flavor. Carbonation is a bit harsh. Pretty easy to drink and almost more like a wheat or light Belgian ale than a Pils.

12oz bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports a sad looking weak near white head of bubbles. The aroma offers up some sugary malt sweetened graininess, a doughy sort of smell, more sweetness and hops that are vaguely Noble in variety. The taste starts sugary sweet with thin rivers of apples juice and pear juice and then it gets into a mild Noble hop flavor that attains almost no hop bitterness. It gets a tad grainy here and there as well. Not all that bad as it manages to stay away from being overly sweet that is a pitfall of this style in my opinion.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of lime/lemon zest. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. In a blind tasting I would swear this is an American Wheat. It’s tart and lemon-limey. The label almost doesn’t even commit to what it is..."blonde beer" says nothing at all, although the current label says "Pilsner Lager" where it used to say "Extinguish Your Thirst". So, maybe it’s really a lager, maybe it isn’t. Either way it’s inoffensive but bland and simple. The funniest thing is they forgot the apostrophe in the ***name of the company***. It makes me smile to imagine how many people this must have slipped past during the process of creating the company and its marketing materials. It’s certainly possible they intentionally left it off because they thought the character would somehow impair the flow of the gorgeous blocky all-caps font they used for the word "firemans". And the name is kinda sexist, that’s cool too...Firefighter’s Brew sounds stupid, right? This beer is for MEN, dammit. I also just noticed the background says "The Original". Whew, that’s a relief...thankfully I’m not drinking some imitation fireperson company’s product. All right, all right, I’ll stop being a jerk-off, the company supposedly donates an (unspecified) portion to charity, but come on, this is just so gimmicky. It begs to be teased.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has notes of plastic, grass and grain with a hint of sweetness. Flavor has much more sweet grains with a bit of grass and a hint of cookie.

6/13/11. 12oz bottle. Slightly hazy golden pour with a small creamy head that fades fast. Plain grainy aroma with butter and corn. Plain flavor of grain, butter, and seltzer water. Bleh.

Sampled on 8/13/2010. This blonde ale pours a light to medium orange gold color from a 12 oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal, grainy, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied blonde ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral. Sweet and fruity, with a touch of honey. Decent carbonation. Its smack dab in the middle of the BJCP guidelines for a blonde ale though. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

12 oz. bottle. Not sure where it came from. Pour is an opaque golden. The nose matches the flavor with soft fruit and some tangerine. Caramel is even lighter. Light grain, too. This is generally sweet and easy to drink. Uncomplicated and pleasant.

This smells and looks like a cheap lager and it mostly tases like one too. Some funk a bit heavy. Not good.
