3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburís Foco. Pours a touch hazy, dull golden appearance with a slightly off white head. Light, a touch lemon fruity, straw, light estery, grassy aroma. Slightly tangy, lemon, a bit yeasty, straw, slightly sweet flavor. Carbonation is a bit harsh. Pretty easy to drink and almost more like a wheat or light Belgian ale than a Pils.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports a sad looking weak near white head of bubbles. The aroma offers up some sugary malt sweetened graininess, a doughy sort of smell, more sweetness and hops that are vaguely Noble in variety. The taste starts sugary sweet with thin rivers of apples juice and pear juice and then it gets into a mild Noble hop flavor that attains almost no hop bitterness. It gets a tad grainy here and there as well. Not all that bad as it manages to stay away from being overly sweet that is a pitfall of this style in my opinion.

In a blind tasting I would swear this is an American Wheat. Itís tart and lemon-limey. The label almost doesnít even commit to what it is..."blonde beer" says nothing at all, although the current label says "Pilsner Lager" where it used to say "Extinguish Your Thirst". So, maybe itís really a lager, maybe it isnít. Either way itís inoffensive but bland and simple. The funniest thing is they forgot the apostrophe in the ***name of the company***. It makes me smile to imagine how many people this must have slipped past during the process of creating the company and its marketing materials. Itís certainly possible they intentionally left it off because they thought the character would somehow impair the flow of the gorgeous blocky all-caps font they used for the word "firemans". And the name is kinda sexist, thatís cool too...Firefighterís Brew sounds stupid, right? This beer is for MEN, dammit. I also just noticed the background says "The Original". Whew, thatís a relief...thankfully Iím not drinking some imitation fireperson companyís product. All right, all right, Iíll stop being a jerk-off, the company supposedly donates an (unspecified) portion to charity, but come on, this is just so gimmicky. It begs to be teased.
