Roasted nose. Good deal of malt and coffee. Slight sweetness up front. Good roasty flavors. Pretty tasty. I was a bit worried about this beer being overly sweet. That isn’t the case. Solid Dopplebock.

Good dopplebock. For 8% ABV it is really drinkable. Not a treacly malt bomb. Balanced and smooth.

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s. Brown, almost black appearance with a small tan head, mostly diminishing, no lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla and toffee. Similar flavor, malty, sweet and creamy with minimal bitterness. Medium to full body, slick and smooth with soft carbonation and a rich finish.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma notes of chocolate with dark bread and a hint of roasted malts. Flavor has a chalky chocolate flavor with a bit of roasted malts and earthy grains.

Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Dark brown, tan head, no lace. Sweet brown sugar malts, nearing syrupy proportions. Sugary sweet but lacking complexity and hearty malt structure.

Pours almost black, thin off-white head. Nose is malty, notes of chocolate. Taste is sweet, but a little hop bite comes through. Medium body, lively carbonation. Nice brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle stating 8% abv pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a semi loose one minute long thin mocha head. The aroma offers up a flash of metal at first and then it slides into dark roasted malts, scorched toffee sweetness and then a faint earthy chocolate note. The taste has a pleasing mix of dark roasted malts, chocolate and a thin ribbon of cherry like fruity esters that really imparts little sweetness. It gets a little more dark roasted coffee like toward the finish. Decent enough but a little roasty for the stated style.

Out of the bottle. Aroma is a nice, dark bread and cocoa. Rich malt. Dark brown with a beige head that leaves a collar. Flavor is husky malt and slightly syrupy. Flavor leaves quickly with only a sweetness remaining. Lacks the complexity of a good DB, but tolerable.
