Pours almost black, thin off-white head. Nose is malty, notes of chocolate. Taste is sweet, but a little hop bite comes through. Medium body, lively carbonation. Nice brew.

My second favorite of the trio currently offered. This double bock pours brown/black and has a nice malty aroma. Lighter than a traditional dopple this would make a good introductory beer to the world of German style beers.

Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Dark brown, tan head, no lace. Sweet brown sugar malts, nearing syrupy proportions. Sugary sweet but lacking complexity and hearty malt structure.

Smokey and rich caramel aroma. Dark black in color. I would have to say the taste is pretty good for a $7.99 price point on a 6-pack. Long notes of smokey wood and malt leaves this beer a great pairing for a tasty pizza. Overall, this is the first tasting I did of the Firemans Brew but so far I like it, especially at the 8.5% alcohol, hehe.

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is is sweet malt with some caramel. Flavor is again sweet malt with a strong coffee. This is a dopple? Finish has some more coffee and a bit of dark fruit. This was weird and not what i was expecting this to be. Alcohol is well hidden.

Nice aftertaste. Not very bitter, but high abv for a brunette and very easy to drink.

Bottle poured into an Ayinger Celebrator glass, dark ruby brown color and a tiny, fizzy head; aroma is mostly roasted malts and chocolate; A touch of alcohol in the taste, with a little bit of roasty chocolate as well...kind of watery; palate is a bit watered down as well. Not the worst thing ever but certainly not that great.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a deep dark brown color with aroma of roasted malts and nuts. Taste is roasted as well, with a bitter aftertaste. The leftover taste on. The palate is almost too bitter. Overall a good looking beer that is a little tough on the palate.

It’s got that same green root shism the redhead has. Sweet cocoa aromatics with a shy forth. Rich on the tongue with a bit of carbonation. Cocoa, coffee and tree roots. Long sticky finish.
