3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a black appearance with a creamy tan head with a dissipating head. Big roasty, nutty, a touch woody, caramel malty, cola, a touch burnt aroma. Somewhat sugary, burnt toffee, caramel, cookie, nutty, cola flavor. Not bad.

Has a 1/2" head when poured from a bottle. Seeing yeast particles float up maybe it a bit less appetizing. Smells malty and chocolaty. Heavy bodied and moderately creamy; fizzy. Slight sour after taste.

Pretty much opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, light fine carbonation. Mild dark malts. Little fruity rang, almost coca cola. Pinch of cocoa powder. Whispers of roast and coffee. Light semi dry finish. A tidy and flavoursome brown.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Dark brown with a nice lighter tan head that leaves stringy lacing. A rich malty cocoa nose. From the first sip this one is less than hoped for. It is one of those beers where i like everything tasted but they work against each other rather than compliment. Cocoa, mixed fruit, and an unfortunate mix of hops. Although this is a European style, the addition of west coast US hops would have been welcomed. The finish brought out more of the malt and especially the chocolate and that was nice.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a bottle into a pint glass on May 31, 2012. Minimal head, well less than a finger. Color was maroon black, reminded me of grape cough syrup. Caramel tan lacing that went away fairly quickly.
Lots of different smells that didn’t initially match up that well. Got caramel and toffee notes, then dark chocolate. Also some coffee malts in there as well
Tasted a bit better than the smell, at least more balanced. Got roasted toffee malts up front, followed by dark chocolate and coffee. Got a weird aftertaste that was a bit like cough syrup.
Full-to-medium body. Thinner texture. Average carbonation. Smooth finish.
A decent beer. I’d give it another try, along with some of their other beers.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from 12 oz, Brunette on the label. Dark brown with a tint of red, small light tan head. Bottle says brewed in Ukiah, so not sure where it is really made. Mild nose, chocolate is prevailing. Taste was smooth and cola like, on the sweet side, somewhat thin body. Overall drinkable with a clean dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s. Brown, almost black appearance with a small tan head, mostly diminishing, no lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla and toffee. Similar flavor, malty, sweet and creamy with minimal bitterness. Medium to full body, slick and smooth with soft carbonation and a rich finish.
