COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth, rich red ale without the bite (5.5% alcohol). This 3-time gold medal winner is a combination of 5 different styles of malts, and several different Yakima Valley hops. The use of ""crystal malt"" in the brewing process imparts a rich caramel flavor. This combination creates a flavor packed red ale like you’ve never had before!

A dark brown, almost black pour with a late forming light tan thick head. The aroma is a bit swampy and funky, even a bit smoky. It also has some pleasant malt. Flavor is grassy and funky. There is some light fruit and in general this beer is sour. Actually, it is the closest to a sour style as any Amber Ale I have had. Certainly not what I expected but it was fun.

Contract brewed by Indian Wells Brewery. Served in a 12 oz brown bottle. Pours a nice color with a clear dark amber color and a white foam. That is were I should have stopped. Aroma was very medicinal with a hint of bubble gum. A bit overwhelming. Tastes like a gram cracker and sweet unique (in a bad way) malty taste and an after taste that stays with you for a while and wish it didn’t. They need to consider changing contract brewers. Will retry if they do.

Sampled on 8/13/2010. This amber ale pours a medium to dark reddish brown color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied red/amber ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are citrusy and herbal. Decent carbonation. A touch sweet at the finish. Decent ‘red’ ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Cloudy red amber with a tiny off white head. Aroma had roasted malt, caramel and hints of hops. Flavour had roasted malt, caramel, dark fruits and vague hops. Finished somewhat dry and slightly bitter.

muddy brownish copper with hardly any head or lacing. Caramel, graham cracker and a subtle sense of bananas come through on the nose, but none of it particularly pleasant. Taste features sweet caramel malt and butter. light body, medium carbonation, and a lingering sweetness. This wasn’t too good, but extra points for the cause.

Bottle claims this is bottled by Indian Wells Brewing Co. Appearance: Pours a clear dark amber with noticeable carbonation, but almost no head to be found. Aroma: Caramel and a light whiff of banana and other sugars. Taste: Caramel and sweet bread, with small twang and a mild bitter hop finish. Mouthfeel: Softly carbonated, thin mouthfeel. Overall: Not offensive, but nothing I would purchase or seek out again.

Draft. Amber color with an off-white head. Honey in the aroma. Light body. Sweet light fruit flavors. Finishes undry.
