COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth, rich red ale without the bite (5.5% alcohol). This 3-time gold medal winner is a combination of 5 different styles of malts, and several different Yakima Valley hops. The use of ""crystal malt"" in the brewing process imparts a rich caramel flavor. This combination creates a flavor packed red ale like you’ve never had before!

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a clear, deep red appearance with a light brown head. A touch fruity, burnt caramel malty, somewhat herbal/piney hoppy, slightly spicy, albeit uninspired aroma. Metallic, burnt malty, bitter herbal hoppy, tangy flavor. Too much metal.

Rötlichbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen Früchten, Karamell, Gewürzen. Geschmack röstmalzig süß, fruchtig, leicht hopfig, würzig.

12 oz bottle. 142402114. From alesbymail.co.uk.
Dark clear reddish brown colour with a small light tan head. Sweet caramel malt, mild darkish hops, sugary sweetness and a hint of bitterness in the aroma. The flavour is sweet malt, mild bitterness, woody dryness and some mild hops. Very typical American Amber Ale.

Darker than I expected, a bit more roasted flavor, good malt balance, I feel like it needs a little hops.

bottle. amber red with small head. the aroma is terrible -- cooked vegetables with a bit of rot. caramel malt with slightly below average flavor. not nearly as bad as the aroma suggests.

Clear deep amber - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is a little crisp. Good malts with light touches of soy and marmite. A bare whisper of something fruity. Light finish. Passable.

355ml bottle. Dark brown/red ale. Pretty flat mouthfeel, slightly ashy and bitter, caramel malts. Nothing to behold.

Ok. Decent flavor but nothing to write home about. Easy drinking but really uneventful.

I never expect anything special from this style (Amber Ale), but I have an open mind (read "loose"), so I’ll give it my fairest shot. It pours a dark amber/brown body with a modest tan head. The aroma is sweet and caramelly with a touch of floral notes. The flavor is more of a dirty caramel/toffee taste, a touch of pome fruit, and a solid earthy bitterness. It won’t be a "go to" beer for me, but it’s an okay drink.

When I see something sort of gimmicky that is pretty clearly contract brewed, my hope is always simply that the beer is not outright terrible. In this case, my humble dream came true and I am that much better of a person due to the leap of faith I took when buying this. Truly, this beer is OK. It is actually really nice looking, w/ a creamy head that sits upon clear, red brown liquid. This is a malt-forward brew to be sure, more simply sweet than having a real depth to the malt character but pleasant nonetheless. I get a bit of toffee and raisin mostly. It is a bit thin on the palate despite the sweetness and is maybe just a touch watery. There is a slight and unfortunate metallic note that you just barely notice and it finishes light and quick, almost to the point of being watery. This is definitely not going to turn any heads even for stalwart fans of lighter craft styles but is at least generally inoffensive. I doubt I will buy this again but if someone left it in my fridge, I’d probably finish off the six pack eventually.

Reddish-brown pour. Faint malt in the nose. Sweet. A bit thin. Lively carbonation. Quite drinkable, but a bit bland. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
