COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth, rich red ale without the bite (5.5% alcohol). This 3-time gold medal winner is a combination of 5 different styles of malts, and several different Yakima Valley hops. The use of ""crystal malt"" in the brewing process imparts a rich caramel flavor. This combination creates a flavor packed red ale like youíve never had before!

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburís Foco. Pours a clear, deep red appearance with a light brown head. A touch fruity, burnt caramel malty, somewhat herbal/piney hoppy, slightly spicy, albeit uninspired aroma. Metallic, burnt malty, bitter herbal hoppy, tangy flavor. Too much metal.

12 ounce bottle .. . i have an aversion to ambers, but this was solid .. . malty sweetness is on point, very little hop bitterness .. mouth is mild but not scared .. a pretty boring beer but a solid amber .. . . The hero is commonly the simplest and obscurest of men.

Sparkling City on Tap festival in Corpus Christi. Reddish colored with a thin head. Aroma of sweet malt, grass, and a touch of metal. Taste is the same. Pretty light bodied and thin.

12oz bottle on my daughters patio on 21st May 2016, into a Corsendonk tulip glass. Dark mahogany body, off-white wisp and collar. Malty blend with semi-sweet molasses ruling the nose and taste. Decent, but a bit íone dimensionalí.

From a bottle, very dark for an amber. First taste is rather malty fer sure. So, mendocino it is! Metallic aroma. Probably shouldah cooled it more. Yes, lots of flavor. Alky is apparent. Finish leaves you wishing for more carbonation.

Poured a caramel red color with aromas of caramel and malt a touch of grass. Flavors are the same with caramel and Light hops. Decent amber ale with some decent flavor.

Firemanís Brew Redhead Ale has a thin, off-white head, a mostly clear, rust-red appearance, and minimal lacing left on the glass. The aroma is muted, but one can, with deep inhalation, pick up sweet, roasted malt. Taste is of the same, with mild hop bitterness and brown bread crust. Mouthfeel is mostly on the light and watery side, and Firemanís Brew Redhead finishes fairly crisp and highly drinkable. RJT

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, chocolate, light nuttiness, light citrus, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light citrus hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, chocolate, light nuttiness, light citrus, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Light earthy hop and roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, chocolate, light citrus, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light citrus hop flavors; with no cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with very smooth, fairly creamy, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good brown ale(labeled as an amber ale on this site though). All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light citrus hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Red with white head. Malty and fruity. Decent. Had this poured in small glass from draft at the American Beer Classic 2015.
