Delirium (420), Santa Cruz, California, USA Apr 7, 2008 Draught. Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma is light caramel malt, and a bit of apple. Flavor is about the same. No hops that I can detect. Inoffensive, but extremely boring.
troopie (470), USA Aug 17, 2008 Draught. Poured red amber with thin head. Spicy aroma, with much floral. Malty flavour, with a bit of flatness also toast notes. Balanced finish. DA (2376), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Aug 11, 2008 Pours amber, very clear, with a smooth white head. Toasted malts up front, fruity and a touch spicy in the hops. I didn’t pick up much barrel character in this. Also, this felt a bit watery on the palate, very soft carbontation, maybe a bit more and some more barrel character would come out. raphael (256), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 2, 2008 Caramel, pine & plywood. The head holds on a while over clear darkish armber. A little flat in the bottle, flavors of caramel, whole wheat bread, lemon, oak & a hop edge. citrusy finish apshah99 (77), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 2, 2008 Orange amber pour, light aroma of floral hops. Smooth, sweet taste, a touch of grapefruit with bright crisp finish. I can’t taste much of the barrel. Nice on the palate if a little thin. Indulgence (61), Ajo, Arizona, USA Aug 2, 2008 Faint aromas of mixed fruits, malts and hops, orange, slightly cloudy with a mild head and carbonation, taste is like a mild ESB, with some mixed candied fruits, toffee and hops. Palate is light, palate is smooth, clean with a lean toward some lingering spice hoppiness. The first time that I had this I was blown away by it’s complexity, not anymore, it’s still a beer I like and an above average, every now and then quaffer.
