can8ianben (575), Pasadena, California, USA May 13, 2008 I assume this is what I tried - it was labeled as "Pale 31 - California Pale Ale". Whatever it was, it tasted delicious with the Mexican food we enjoyed it with. Sweet and malty with a strong citrus bitterness from the high volume of hop presence. Crisp is a great defining word. The aroma was the only strange thing - smelled slightly of wet dog.
Palidor19 (1207), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 it has its good qualities yet everything seems to be standard instead of something special. still its got the hops and malt that you want for this beer. nick76 (1970), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 The aroma is malty with plenty of pine hops and sweet caramel. The appearance is hazy pale gold. The flavor is like the aroma. Overall I like it. TheBeerBaron (154), Florida, USA Jul 8, 2008 Clear yellow color high white head with some lace. Slight carbonation action in the glass. Lemon and pine aroma that feels like i’m in for a clean beer. Citrus flavor very light. This beer is lacking malts to make it a preferred ale in my book. More similar to a lager than a pale ale. Nothing awful, just nothing special. doubleo (670), San Diego, California, USA Jun 30, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours light orange/yellow with a small white head, decent retention, good lace. Smells crisp and hoppy, slight citrus. Tastes light, crisp, and sweet citrusy, maybe a bit of malt in there. Thin body, crisp carbonation. scottw86 (94), New York, USA Jun 18, 2008 Aroma was very hoppy with some floral hints. Flavor was also very hoppy. Very smooth. Some more malt flavor would bring this from very good to exceptional.
