sayravai (3183), Helsinki, Finland Jun 29, 2007 (Bottled, 0.66l) Very dark brown with a small head. Very oaky, slightly licoricey aroma with lots of coconut, vanilla, some smoke and port. Full-malty, very oaky flavor with vanilla and coconut, port - some alcohol, too. Medium to full in body, with hardly any carbonation. A bold and beautiful beer, with the oak being surprisingly balanced despite the amount of it. Some alcohol still present, so could age a bit.
Rciesla (871), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 10, 2008 Bottle courtesy of BrianK. Odd blend that somehow fell apart as it warmed but i regress. Amber brown body with a tan head. Sweet and malty, a bit chocolately bourbon comes in light as does the oak. Dark fruit dates prune and vanilla with loads of etoh making it seem a bit unbalance. Some spices in the finish. A good beer, but far from the ebay value haha. General_Gao (2575), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle shared by iowaherkeye. Thanks! Poured a hazy orange-brown color with an off white head. Smelled of booze (in a brandy-ish kind of way), dark fruits, and light flowery hops. Full bodied with a warming alcohol effect. Rich, complex flavor profile including the likes of bourbon, oak, vanilla, and milk chocolate liqueur. Sharp, spicy, bitter finish. glkaiser (999), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 14, 2008 Thanks to bitbucket tasting. Light brown/dark amber. Sugary sweet chocolate and some caramel. Bourbon kick is fairly heavy, but pleasant. The base beer still does most of the work. Love it. pepsican (765), the beer wastelands of, Iowa, USA Sep 14, 2008 joey! Thanks man for this. Cola brown almost black pour. Huge vanilla, oak, caramel, and toffee aroma. Flavor is dominated with oak and vanilla, some booze, chocolate, toffee, and spice. Boozy finish, quite a bit of sweetness. Good carbonation. SuzyGreenberg (1028), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 12, 2008 22 oz. bottle @ liquid sunshine tasting - wow, never thought i’d be seeing this one; thanks yonkers65!!! dark cola brown, thin tan head; smells like chocolate cheesecake; huge, rich aromas that you can pick up well away from the bottle; thick, oaky, alcohol, wow, what a tasty brew this is; tastes like chocolate cake too; tons of texture, creamy thick body; candy in a bottle, but the sweetness doesn’t overwhelm; totally killed the 11 in a side by side; thanks again bruce for such a tasty treat
