3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown with little tan head. Aroma is raisins, toffee, vanilla, and some wet cardboard. A bit oxidized at first but for a 3 year old bear not bad. That fades and its a very rich complex lightly bourbony and toasty barleywine. Nice.

At STL bbbb, thanks for the taste! Pour is clear brown with a medium light brown head. Aroma and flavor loaded with caramel malt, brown sugar, light barrel notes, and a smooth vanilla finish. This is very nice with no hints of oxidation at all yet. Drinking very nicely.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Shared bottle with Timfoolery. The 14th Ann is one of the best beers Iíve ever had so I think I was little to hyped up for this one. Still a great beer will all bourbon and malty goodness, but maybe just a little past its prime.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Monument at a huge markup. Aroma is bourbon, toffee, cocoa, Hershey's syrup, and roasted maple syrup. Flavor definitely dominated with bourbon with other nose characterics catching up in the flavor. Some burn here, even after years of age. Not as good as the FW14, so was a letdown. Still, an excellent beer to ring in my 800th rating! Cheers!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is really nice. Roar and chocolate with dark fruit esters. Quite a bit of vanilla and oak; the vanilla fades as it warms. The alcohol becomes more apparent as it warms. Esters are mostly fig an prune with a bit of a sherry note.
Pours black with dark brown notes on the edges. Thin mocha head that quickly recedes to the edges. No lacing but some medium legs.
Taste starts with milk chocolate notes with hints of roast and coffee. Mid palate the eaters hit - nice dark fruit. The finish has bourbon, oak and a good amount of vanilla as well as more roast to balance. A light hop note is present and there is medium low bitterness. A slight touch of astringency and there is a decent amount of alcohol spice in the finish but it mixes with lingering chocolate and roast notes.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium low carbonation. Astringency is low and alcohol warmth is medium. A nice creaminess to it with a bit of a sticky finish.
Overall this is super enjoyable and only just now showing signs of slight oxidation. I think I will let my other bottle go another year or two for a nice vertical. My only complaint would be that it might be a bit thin, but it gets better as it warms.
