Bottle... This beer rocks!… Murky dark brown pour with a mid-sized, creamy, khaki head. Great retention. The nose is nutty and oaken with a touch of vanilla. Full-bodied and velvety with airy carbonation. The malty, roasty, sweet flavor consists mainly of fudge and dark chocolate. Finishes silky and sweet. Big-time thanks to newcigarz for providing this bottle of world class beer!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit III. Pours a black appearance with a bubbly, light brown head. Kind of spicy tequila, sweet bourbon, chocolate, toffee, graham cracker, vanilla wafer aroma. Dark chocolate, toffee, s’mores, marshmallows, sweet bourbon, spirit flavor. Incredibly unique. While the boozy notes are noticeable from the barrels, they do create a very cool, unique flavor.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle, shared by DanielCoor. Very dark brown, near black reddish clear color. Minimal khaki head. Few loose dots of lace. Great cookie dough, brownie batter, vanilla aromas. Great, rich bourbon barrel character. Smooth, kind of soft lighter carbonation. Bigger body. Head fades to virtually nothing. Moderate sweet taste, some light burn in the finish, light bitter. A bit boozy, but a solid American strong ale. Prefer this to 14 by quite a bit, though it’s not nearly as good as 15 in my experience.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
651mL. Tepid, clearer mahogany pour. Weaker yellowish foam. Nose is seasoned tomato, sugary bourbon, black pepper, licorice hard liquor. Taste is money: cinnamon ganache, thick milk chocolate, thick salted caramel, mild spicy alcohol warming. Really rich, dense, dessert palate. Easy to love. There is a long sweetened tea flavor in the finish with a lot of Spenda/aspartame. The sweet bourbon barrel notes aren’t my thing any more. People love this and I can see why. Another good offering from what is probably the best American Strong Ale series.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber from Capone’s. Pours thick dark black, with some brown through the bottom of the tulip glass. The head is khaki, smallish, and lacy. Nose is figgy and raisins, oaky bourbon, dark malt, cacao, nuts. Very complex woody spirity nose. Tastes rich, very woody, oaky, bourbony, with notes of cacao, pruney and blackberries, cacao, Brazil nut, vanilla. It is amazing how many flavor and aroma notes come through in this. FInishes complex, with well hidden alcohol, but the density lets you know that this beer isn’t for lightweights. This one is great.
