It’s not a unique idea, but one that everyone on the Central Coast understands… Call something “805” and it means local. As a regional craft brewer we have always known that the closer the beer is to where it was brewed, the fresher it is. In fact since 1996 our brewery has been built on fresh, local beers for the Central Coast…. so we created a beer just for our locals in the “805”. Hope you like it… FW

From a mixed 12 pack purchased at Nugget in Woodland. Unfortunately, this beer was bottled on 11/25/13, so it’s nearly 6 months old. The aroma has some sweet, honey-like notes, with a little grassy and herbal hop characteristics. A fair amount of graham cracker here, too. Pours a transparent golden body with a small, quickly dissipating white head present. Starts with a little sweet cracker maltiness. Almost a little astringent in the middle. Graham crackers late. Finishes very mildly herbal without really much hop bitterness to balance the malts.

Clear golde /yellow with a one-finger white head that left minimal lace. Modest bready malt aromas with hints of floral and grassy hops. Malt and grainy sweetness up front accompanied by citrus and floral hops, all of which is weirdly balanced. Light body, fizzy carbonation, proickly mouthfeel and adry finish.

650ml bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a big white head that has good retention. The aroma is spicy with hay, grains and thyme. The flavor is cereal grains and sweet breads. The palate is thin and the carbonation is soft. Finishes short and unmemorable. Overall: meh

Bottle from Bobar: Poured a sparkling golden liquid and formed minimal foam. Aroma is empty without a single traceable scent to assure me that this is actually a beer. The flavor is bland and has hints of sweetness which reminds me of an apple cider but not beer. This was a wack 6-pack considering I paid $11. I figured since it was from Firestone Walker it would be good but what FAIL.

Pours a clear gold with nice head. Aroma is corn malts. Taste follows the Aroma. Very light and refreshing. Taste like a very good Pils.

BlackHaddock (3183) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2014
22oz Bottle, bottled on 8th February 2014, drank overlooking Balboa Island on 16th March 2014. Poured many times into small tumbler. Bright, clear and golden, each new pour gave me small white head which turned into collar wisp fairly swiftly. carbonation bubbles could be seen rising on each pour too. Weak aroma of grains and mild floral hops, taste also faint in strength with semi-sweet malts pushing the hops way down the pecking order. Refreshing and clean, an ideal sunshine beer, which is why it was opened in the first place. it made me burp!

Enjoyed on tap at Barney’s Beanery in Santa Monica, CA. Meh, this is just ok. Nothing too good, average blonde ale, easy drinking, goes well with salads.

Clear gold pour (looks like a lager), quick white head. Malt and hay in the nose. Sweet. Middle is creamy lightly kilned malt with some grassiness. Finish is smooth and malty.
