COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Big boozy bourbon and American oak aromas combined with soft chocolate malty undertones. Complex malt flavors framed in oak, with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, tobacco, coconut and just a touch of dark cherry. This is definitely a sipping beer, best served in a brandy snifter. This ale pairs well with dark chocolate and sturdy cheeses.

Note: Sucaba is the beer formerly known as Abacus until the Winter 2012 release.

Pouring at the Night of the Barrels on the Friday night of EBF 2012. Pours a clear ruby with a thin to medium sized beige head. Sweet malt, brown sugar. Oxidized malt, toast. Medium bodied, lots of oxidized malt. Plums and malt, toast. Lingering alcohol, plums and oxidized malt on the finish.

Sample Coles Barleywine Competition 2012. dark copper, rather flat, little head. Tons of complexity. Oak, vanilla, raisins, rich maltiness.Big big flavor. Barrel aging really shines here. Very enjoyable

Abacus bottle shared by motortoddhead. Deep red-brown with fading head. Awesome aroma of earthy, must oak, dark cherries, sweet caramel, toasted malt, syrup, and mild booze. Flavor is sweet cherry, plum, brown sugar, syrup, oaky goodness and finishing with light bourbon and more malt goodness. Some mild alcohol residual. Lingering cherry, vanllia. Thick and sticky. Amazing!

Bottle at hallinghansen grand tasting. Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a medium off white head. The aroma is loads of dark fruits, tobacco, bourbon, vanilla and oak. The flavour is dark fruit, chocolate, oak, tobacco, berries and has some boozy notes. Dark fruity finish. Bit too boozy.
