COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Wild Red Ale

This liberation begins its journey as DBA then continues through a “chrysalis” process involving 87% French and 13% American Oak barrels, and our proprietary collection of micro flora. To blend, we selected beer matured eight to 24 months in barrels, creating a synergistic beer. Immediately, toasted oak and lemon pith swirl on the nose and palate, followed by an amazing harmony of vanilla, coconut, Earl Grey tea and spice. The finish is crisp, with mouth-watering acidity and chewy tannins. Since we age, blend and bottle these beers once a year, there will be slight variation with each release. A santé!

Appearance: Pours an amber brown with a white ring of head.

Aroma: Sweet tart candy, bready malt, grandmas house.

Taste: Bready malt ,tartness. Vinegar.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied modest bubbles.

Overall: I’m not the biggest DBA fan, this is slightly more interesting, but not one of my favorite sours they’ve been piloting.

Draft at SB. Pours a murky, sediment-y-looking medium brown with a dense and sudsy light tan head. Tangy nose, showing citric brightness along with berries, oak, and some soft accents of dark pitted tree fruit. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Great interplay among oak, vanilla, caramel, acidic fruits, and sweeter strawberry-like fruit notes on the mid palate. Worth many repeats.

Draft pour at Special Brews. Pours a cloudy orange color with a forever lasting head to it. Wow, what a great beer. Sour cherry aroma. Mild variety fruit flavor with a really nice tart balance. Sweet red wine like. Loved this beer.

From bottle at What the Funk?!? - GABF 2014. Pour is slightly hazy orange with a big cream-colored head and great lacing. Funky, peach skin, light apricots, some pepper, somewhat grassy, vanilla, caramelly and tangy aroma. Taste is tangy, stone fruits, some lemon peel, a touch of pepper, oaky, light pineapple, and caramel with a medium sour finish. Semi-thin body with medium carbonation. Pretty tasty.

On tap @ bier30, nice red amber pour with a dark cream head. Nice malt aroma that is followed by a sour kick flavor! Harsh at first, it then mellows into subtle sour goodness. I am not a sour beer fan, but this one is awesome!
