American Wild Red Ale

This liberation begins its journey as DBA then continues through a “chrysalis” process involving 87% French and 13% American Oak barrels, and our proprietary collection of micro flora. To blend, we selected beer matured eight to 24 months in barrels, creating a synergistic beer. Immediately, toasted oak and lemon pith swirl on the nose and palate, followed by an amazing harmony of vanilla, coconut, Earl Grey tea and spice. The finish is crisp, with mouth-watering acidity and chewy tannins. Since we age, blend and bottle these beers once a year, there will be slight variation with each release. A santé!

Appearance: Pours an amber brown with a white ring of head.

Aroma: Sweet tart candy, bready malt, grandmas house.

Taste: Bready malt ,tartness. Vinegar.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied modest bubbles.

Overall: I’m not the biggest DBA fan, this is slightly more interesting, but not one of my favorite sours they’ve been piloting.

sample @ EBF 2015. cloudy dark golden orange with a small reviving white cap, some lacing. lightly honeyed maltiness, sweet grass, bourbon - buttery and spicy barreling components, spicy caramel and toffee, some slightly off red fruitiness, dill and other spices; rosé wine smoothness and astringency. average to light carbonation, light body - feels a bit thin; light acidity - mainly citric and fairly linear; gently tart, astringent and spicy finish.

EBF 2015. J’ai bien aimé les offres de cette brasserie. Même en fin de parcours leurs bières se sont démarquées. Ici une belle bière sauvage avec des notes de vin rouge. Agréable boisé.

Sample @ EBF.

Appearance: Golden/orange (more on the orange-y side) with a medium off-white head and good lacing.

Taste: Moderate sour. Bright fruity presence with a mild well integrated supporting malt presence. Oak, brettanomyces,

Palate: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Oaky and winey. Fruity and dry finish.

Overall: Superb balance with a nice bright fruity presence and interesting winey features. Easy to drink. Tasty. Loved it.

Great pearlescent copper creamy ring of head. Great tart aromas over a smooth malt smell.the tart start fades to a great vanilla tea smoothness leaving a nice smooth mild sour behind.
