COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
magine yourself in Berlinís Tiergarten enjoying this refreshing Berliner Weisse inspired beer on a warm summerís day. Bretta Weisse honors the traditional beverage of the great Prussian capital, Berlin. Fredrick-the-Great was trained to brew it, and Napoleonís troops called it ďThe champagne of the NorthĒ. Firm estery notes of stone and tropical fruit lead to Funky, yeasty, citrus aromas. Soft cereal and Oak flavors are enveloped by a firm acidity and tartness. The finish is dry and crisp; a thoroughly enjoyable beverage. At 4.9% ABV, one could imagine enjoying several Bretta Weisseís in the Tiergarten, or anywhere else. This Berliner Weisse inspired Wheat beer was aged in 1700 gal French Oak horizontal foeders for 8 months.

Bottle thanks to Santa! Pours a hazy gold with visible carbonation and a bubbly white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a tart lemon with some earthy wheat and a touch yogurt. Flavor has a nice tart lemon throughout with a light funkiness and a wheat backbone.

Have enjoyed this both on tap at Barrelworks and now from a bottle. Pours a lightly hazy orange gold with a fluffy white head. Tons of delicate little bubbles live on got quite some time. Itís a very enjoyable beer but a bit mellow for Barrelworks, Iím more into their sours / wilds that "go to 11". Still, very good stuff as you might expect. Oak and lacto big on the nose with an odd note thatís almost like dairy. Taste is lightly tart, crisp and dry with oak, brett, bugs. Drinks smooth and pretty full-bodied for a 4.9% brew. A very good beer even if Iíve had stuff in the BW tap room that I like much better.

Hazy straw colored pour with a white head. The aroma has some tart wheat and lemon notes. The flavor is similar. I get some tart lemons, wheat and biscuit malt. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Nice pour tonight at Prefunk, but definitely expensive at $8.50 for a 10oz pour... Still excited to get a chance to try this one without the hassle of trading. Nonexistent white head... no lacing... the brew is darker than expected orange with the expected haze. Lactic/lemony with a smack of wheat and something that makes me think of tannic/under-ripe apricot. Body is perhaps a little thick for a Berliner, but that is a minor bitch... Well done.
