Commercial Description:
Cask: Special.
This multi award winning West Coast brewer specialises in brewing American pale ales using its patented Firestone union oak barrel fermentation system. This West Coast-style pale ale is characterised by the use of American-grown hops, with their herbal, citrus-like aroma and flavour. The bright and fruity hop aroma is balanced by an elegant malt texture, with hints of toffee and toasted malt. Hops used: Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, American Fuggles

Pretty nice aroma of grain, oranges, and rose hips. Clear amber, thin head, some lacing. Rose hip flavor, with a slight maltiness. A bit of grapefuit peel in the finish. Uncomplex, sessionable. Nicely done and keeps well. Underrated and a good find.

Clear yellow color with a sizable white foam that leaves an impressive lace. Not much carbonation but good looking in totality. Strong citrus aroma of orange and lemon chased by a delicious honey scent. A light but pungent hop finished the complex aroma. The flavor is mostly hoppy with a grass mint combination. The malt takes second fiddle to quenching water and hops in this pale ale. The light watery palate makes for easy drinking. A solid choice but not exactly groundbreaking.

It is overly carbonated. The taste is watery. It smells okay - like Cascade hops.

Cask @ Pommeller’s Rest, JDW. Bermondsey SE1. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty aroma with some hoppy hints. Fruity malty citrus hoppy flavor. Has a sweetish fruity malty hoppy finish with some hints of citrus in the aftertaste.

Oct, 2008 JDW, Gravesend Caramel - warm fudge - and diacetyl. Pleasure and pain. The edge of both. Soft citric hops - flavoursome, but not aggressive. Some little nips. A delicious little ale.

Not much bite to it; a pale ale that would go well on a warm evening. Nothing special, but certainly drinkable.

Pours a clear yellow gold color with a small off white dissapearing head. Hoppy aroma of grass, dust, and grapefruit. The flavor is mild hoppy with grapefruit, lemon peel and a hint of maltiness in the background. It seems like its on the verge of being excellent, but falls just short. A pretty good example of the style. Its just not very bold. The watery body doesn’t help.

Pale golden pour with a finger thick white head. Nose and flavor are slightly hopped with some earthy influence. A bit of grain in the finish.
