22 oz. bottle courtesy of FlacoAlto - Pours a cloudy amber color with a 1/2 finger thick off white head. Very light lacing. Aroma is very light esters and a faint touch of oak. Flavor is light fruity esters, faint oak, and caramel malt. Light to medium body. Smooth, but thin finish. Not bad, just hoped for a little more. Thanks Sebastian.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 yemenmocha (657) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - JUN 16, 2009
No complaints with this beer. Pours medium amber with good clarity, good white head that fades to a thin lace, and leaves Belgian lace on the way down. Nose is somewhat citrusy hoppy, but also sweet malty & caramel. More of that caramel malt on the palate, with a somewhat clean taste, and finishes somewhat sweet.

Copper in color with a small head. Taste wood right from the start with an artificial vanilla...it is what it is...

Courtesy trade with my hookup in Oregon, Chewy. Thanks man! Glad to have tried it, but this is a bland beer, but has it’s place. This would be a good crossover beer for the BMC crowd. Aroma was very weak. LIght malt with a hint of breadiness. Pour was a nice amber/light brown with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was very thin and bland. Not much flavor to detect but has a distinctive peppery/spicy aftertaste.

22oz Bottle... Poured amber with a nice sized, white head. Floral, earthy hops on the nose with also and woody, malted grains. Nice bitter hop flavors up front but were soon balanced but the malt. Also, a little bit of spiced hops and caramel in the finish.

Like a premium pale ale (I made this note before seeing the style on RB... i.e. this is very "to style"). Nice bitter hop profile with a good malt character to balance it out. Very sessionable solid brew.

This is very interesting. I had scribbled that this beer had "an interesting tea-tannin quality" to it, with prominent woody and earthy elements. Then when I review my rating for the regular DBA I find that I say the same thing! It would be nice to try them side-by-side to tease out the subtle differences.

Tap. Hazy amber beer with a thin white head. Aroma is softly malty with a bit of soft caramel and a light orangey fruitiness. Soft fruity palate, light sweetness and a nice balance. It’s pretty simple, but quite tasty.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopscotch (7535) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 7, 2008
Bottle... Clear, textbook amber ale with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. Good retention. Nice aromas of toffee, cookie, biscuit and black tea with a hint of oak. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Very well-balanced. Tastes mainly of unsweetened black tea with a smidgen of toffee malt. Short, crisp, clean finish.

Lucky to get a bottle of this. Poured a dark amber with fat white head and decent lacing. Nose of caramel malts and some bitter hops. Rich and nice mouthfeel, and well balanced flavors with a hint of oak in the somewhat dry and bitter finish.
