Very tasty, easy drinking beer for any occasion. I prefer this over the Pale 31 that is more on the bitter side

12oz BB 11/07/13
Bit of a mistake on the bottleshops behalf with this one (they assumed it was the DOUBLE DBA), but more than happy to partake.
Nice looking mid-amber body, good clarity, holds a dense white head.
Subdued aroma; light bit of toffee and nutty malt, subtle vanilla and buttery oak character.
Full bodied, bit of malt chewiness, moderate carbonation.
Offers extra complexity on the palate; nutty, biscuity malt, some dark toffee sweetness paves the way for a bit of earthy hop and more of that buttery, vanillary, lightly toasted oak character, lingering on a moderately bitter finish.
Something different, distinct, and altogether, tasty!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is biscuit malts, fruit and citrus hops. The flavor is fruit, biscuit malts, a hint of tobacco, a small hint of hop resin and a citrus/tangy finish. Awesome American version of an ESB.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This one poured a bright amber color with a white head. Aroma was biscut, light hops, and caramel. Flavor was similar, very smooth and slightly more hoppy than normal ESB. Very clean and drinkable.

Lovely ESB, have not found one from the West Coast that can match some of the ones on the East. Fantastic balance, great session ale.
