| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 15, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy, but mostly transparent copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of doughy semi-sweet English caramel malt with a hint of grassy hops. Body starts fairly full with some nice malty sweetness and a decent balance of slightly earthy bittering hops before a duller semi-sweet finish. A decent English pale ale. wickedpete (629), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA

Malty aroma, some caramel sweetness, a bit of bread. The flavor has almost no bitterness, all malt sweetness surrounded by a nice full body and a clean finish. jake65 (1733), Williston, North Dakota, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 9, 2008 Gratis bottle from Rick. Medium amber pour into a pint with a light tan head. Head dissipates to a ring around the glass. Probably the clearest beer I have seen in a while. Nice bready aroma. Small sweet initial taste with light bittering hops. Tart bitterness comes to mind. Much less hoppy than an American pale ale. A bit of smokiness in the aftertaste. Easy to drink EPA. Not a huge fan of the style, but nice to drink. Angeloregon (2038), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Thanks to Eric for the taste of this and the 22oz. bottle--Poured a rich mahogany-amber body with a fluffy white head and thick lacing. Toasty, malt-laden, but very well balanced and not too sweet. Nice English yeast balance with a creamy, slightly fruity finish. Very mild but very enjoyable. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2007 22oz bomber. Pours a clear reddish brown. Relatively thick brownish white head of small bubbles. Smells of hops and faint malt. But you can also smell the sweetness of the wood. Tastes of nice mellow hops and malt flavors and to me the wood really stands out. Sweet with some vanilla. Smooth on the palate, good carbonation, it’s a little thin. I could drink alot of this beer but I wouldn’t, better things on the shelf here.
