A British Pale Ale never tasted so fresh. We challenge our good friends across the pond to match this one. Can’t be done. We’ve honored the traditions of the great British Pale brewers of Burton-on-Trent using our patented Firestone Union oak barrels. You’re left with a mild blend of vanilla and toasted oak flavor touched with an elegant hint of English noble hops. DBA is the flagship of our company and wildly popular

Tap. Mild oak flavor with some watered down malt. Reasonable bitterness, but this suffers from a lack of a solid malt backbone.

(bottle) bright, clear orange amber colour with a medium tall white head; aroma of stewed fruit, hints of bread and citrus; slightly creamy palate; mild, balanced flavour with a long light bitter finish

Fad: Orange ravfarvet klar med et lille skumhoved. Lidt kedelig duft af malt og en smule citrus humle. Skuffende men drukket på strandpromenaden på Avila beach trækker gevaldigt op på oplevelsen.

12oz bottle bottled 3/17/14. Pours a near crystal clear copper orange with a half finger, off white head that thins to a ring. Aroma has some fruity esters, a nice caramel, and a hint of barrel. Taste is slightly sweet with some nice barrel characteristics. Caramel, and slightly fruity with a short finish. Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a lively carbonation. Overall very tasty and flavourful. Smooth barrel notes with some great caramel and fruity yeast taste.

A very flavorful pale ale. I love Firestone Walker's double barrel aged beers, and this is no exception. This beer was 5 months old, so I feel it lost some of its hoppy character. A good blend of malt and barrel aged goodness. Can't wait to try this fresh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2014 Deep amber pour from 12oz bottle. Spicy hop nose. Two fingers foam. Clear. Briny-esque mouth with a spicy hop middle, citrus soda finish. Bread backbone. Touch of corn, then booze.

Bottle. Clear reddish amber, no head. Nose is papery, wood, caramel malts. Flavour is more paper, some berry hops. For some reason I feel less bad about rating old beers if they’ve been barrel-aged, but bumping it up a few points to be fair. Took a double-take on the label as FW’s reputation precedes them.

Bottle: Slightly ruby-tinted copper with good clarity & an off-white foam that quickly recedes to a collar. Aroma is mild, grassy hops with a bit of earthiness & a moderate woodsy essence. A hint of toasted malt crackers here & there with a little bit of that newly polished bureau freshness. Very light overall. Taste includes more earthiness from the hops, definitely English in execution, with a stronger backing of toasted malts just on the fringe of the caramel profile. Toasty. A touch of graininess, the most faint kiss of dry oak, & a little bit of metallic maltiness to finish things off. All-in-all, a decent beer that’s easily quaffable, but nothing very memorable about it, really.
