COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A British Pale Ale never tasted so fresh. We challenge our good friends across the pond to match this one. Can’t be done. We’ve honored the traditions of the great British Pale brewers of Burton-on-Trent using our patented Firestone Union oak barrels. You’re left with a mild blend of vanilla and toasted oak flavor touched with an elegant hint of English noble hops. DBA is the flagship of our company and wildly popular

Bottle from Safeway in Davis, CA. Pours a clear copper color with a quickly disappearing head. Tastes of sweet malt with a hint of bitter hoppiness. Solid easy drinking beer.

Draft at Chart House, Carmel. Somewhat faint aroma. Dark room so appearance is more challenging. Clear, copper body with tan frothy head. Nice lace. Caramelly with a hint of hops in the finish. Basic, not bad.

Amber color with a nice two finger head. Ok lacing. Aroma of sugar and a little hops. Taste is sweet and pleasing. Bitter finish is nice and balanced but not a palate destroyer. Very easy drinking. I could sip these all day.

Weak aroma but a better flavor than expected. A very light bitterness with a nice faint smokiness behind it. Decent and easy to drink.

Pours amber with a bright white head, fast dissipating lacing. I used to work in a pub in college (many, many years ago), and the aroma cracked open a memory bank. I haven’t had an ESB in awhile. Easy drinking, with a small hint of vanilla. Tasted out of a 12 ouncer.

Cask at the Ginger Man, NYC. So it seems I’ve come all this way and just bought a pint of Theakston’s! Is indeed a pretty faithful English bitter, I’d say more Yorkshire than Burton, with a slightly soapy soft mouthfeel and a maybe sherbety hop flavour. Decent enough but wouldn’t stand out in a bitter taste off.

Bomber from small shop in Oregon...very smooth...lots of vanilla and oak...plus a (mild) nose and taste of (mild) hoppy bitterness....this is an excellent ESB.

Big Top, Rosyln variety case: Pours a brownish colour with an off-white head. Aroma is English hops and caramel malts. Taste is much the same, but the balance is something close to perfection. Unlike many ESBs, this is one refreshing beer, and unlike many others, this is also a ful-flavoured beer. There is some hop bitterness, but it is very light. Overall, this is an excellent session.

On tap at Daily Pint. Not a fan of ESB’s. And not even the great FW could sell me. Pours a pale amber brown color with white foam head. Aroma of caramel and slight bitters (English hops).  Light caramel taste with sweet slight bitters. Eh.

Pleasantly surprised to see that this brewery was trending here and on Yahoo as I was drinking it. Must be making impressions. I found this low alcohol ESB to be very easy to drink, yet complex at the same time. I was very much impressed with this, my new "homework" beer. I plan on "taking the flight" with this brewery.

Pours razor clear copper with a strong beige head. Character is maris otter biscuitiness, some munich malt, a hint of mild vanilla American oak, some earthy citrus notes. Body is medium, very mildly carbonated, mild finish. Super quaffable, wish they distributed this in Chicago....
