COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A British Pale Ale never tasted so fresh. We challenge our good friends across the pond to match this one. Can’t be done. We’ve honored the traditions of the great British Pale brewers of Burton-on-Trent using our patented Firestone Union oak barrels. You’re left with a mild blend of vanilla and toasted oak flavor touched with an elegant hint of English noble hops. DBA is the flagship of our company and wildly popular

Poured out of the bottle. Thin head, not a lot of carbonation. Flavor is malty with a slight toasted note, touch of bitterness. It’s ok, not that great IMO.

Light earthy and malt/caramel aroma. The flavor follows, but is very thin, light and washes away too quickly. Subtle lemon and toasted malt in the finish. Lighter body is lacking, the aroma and flavors are way too subtle.

Bottle. Clear amber with a small, off white head. Aromas of caramel malt, oak, and light citrus. Flavor is caramel, bread, citrus, wood, and some nutty notes. Medium bodied, smooth with a dry finish.

Aquilo (541) - Berkeley, California, USA - AUG 26, 2014
Clear brown with a foamy head and some nice lace. Smell of molasses cookies and CO2. Mildly bitter. This is a good, drinkable ale. It doesn’t try to knock my socks off, but that’s okay.

Clear amber color. Aroma is of cooked malt and vanilla. Bitterness is moderate, flavor is slightly spiced like nutmeg with brown sugar. There is the oak barrel flavor also. A little to molasses sweetness to make a session with this one. Toasty malt flavor lingers unpleasantly.

BlackHaddock (3660) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - AUG 20, 2014
16th July 2014 on-tap at the Hanger bar inside the Tustin (Orange County) Whole Foods store. Good clear amber look, the head an off-white covering. Caramel malts in the semi-sweet nose and taste, some mild hops keeping the sweetness in check. I enjoyed this beer and would have had another but my time was short and I wanted a couple more ticks before the women came for me! Nice body depth and overall a very pleasant first beer of the day, managed two more until they arrived.

Beautiful beer for this style. Buttery, nutty, bread flavor that is typical. Great balance of hops at the end. Easy to drink and great taste.

Orange golden, good clarity, white head. Nose is biscuity, toasty, fresh apple esters. Flavor is same plus mild citrus and herbal bitterness, hints of oak, honey. Really nice interpretation of esb, very under appreciated imo

355 mL bottle. Nice looking cola brown beer. Mild, fairly typical malty aroma. Not bad. Nice tasting, though, with nice mouthfeel for a 5% beer. Malty, bruised fruit, some earthy hops. Very sessionable.

Enjoyed on move in day. Thirst quenching! So refreshing and still so flavorful and full of character. Nothing heavy or dominating to ruin things. This was the perfect beverage on a hot sweaty afternoon.

Bright amber color with a white head. Aroma was biscuit, light hops, and caramel. Very smooth flavor. Clean and drinkable.
