Pours clear chestnut brown with very little head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, toffee, chestnut, hazel, oak and port. Medium carbonation, nice oily and light dry mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely balanced but also quite sweet and sticky. Oak, port, light oxidation, vinoius, sugary. Quite warming finish.

Lett fyldig og sødmerik fruktig lukt med preg av malt, humle, tørka frukt, bourbon, vanilje, tre, karamell, gras, litt mandelessens. Frisk sødmerik smak med preg av malt, humle, sukker, bourbon, tre, vanilje, tørka frukt, karamell, gras, mandelessens. Middels bitterhet som set litt. Grei.

Draught @ CBC 2013: Amber coloured. Unclear. Dnese beige head. Aroma: Caramel, spice, ripe fruits, some sweetness, oak, brown sugar, herbs. Flavour: Ripe fruits, caramel, brown sugar, herbs, oak, bourbon, spice. Medium to full bodied. Ends fruity and woody.

Draft. An amber beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and wood. The alcohol burns the tongue.

2012 Reserve #001 bottle. Translucent red-copper; sparkling clear; small but durable off-white head.
Aroma: Big, rich and complex with some evidence of higher ABV. Surprisingly fruity! Hints of oak, caramel, raisins, brown sugar and bourbon.
Taste: Rich, complex and lasting. Bourbon whiskey-oak tones over a very fine barleywine. Has 12% ABV but drinks more like 8%.
Mouthfeel: Smooth but with some alcohol heat. Excellent for 12% ABV!
O: Exceptional. Perfect for sipping. An ESB transformed into something else altogether.

[5/4/13] Draught at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Hazy amber. Malty and alcoholic aroma with caramel and some fruitiness. Sweet malty alcoholic flavor, caramelly and a bit fruity. Medium-bodied.

Bottle @ CBC. Clear dark amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, hop, little toasted, little toffee and a little oak. Flavour is malt, caramel, little vanilla, medium sweet, little toasted, little toffee and a little bourbon.

Bottle at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Poured a bright copper colour with a round glass hugging head and a thick oily consistency. The aroma is rich fruit, toffee and caramel. The flavour is weak bitter, sweet, oaky and with some slightly rich alcohol burn on the palate. This is a truly superb beer which seems like a beer on a whole new level.

On tap pours a tannish brown color with a light tan head that leaves hardely any lacing. Smells of caramel, honey vanilla and bourbon. Tastes of all the same things. Mouthfeel is oily and chewy with good carbonation. Overall pretty good for an aged ESB. A little too sweet for my taste, but good.
