3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a bomber into a snifter. Series 001, 2012. Pours a pretty light brown. Little to no head and lacing. Aroma is sweet coconutty and boozy. Mouthfeel is pretty med-thin and sticky. Taste is pretty much like the aroma but with some wood paint licorice and rubbing alcohol. This sucker would have to sit another couple years to mellow out. Too bad, I really like the DBA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Firestone Walker Barrelworks. A clear amber colored beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma has lots of dark dried fruits, some faint spiced notes, alcohol notes and peach hints. Full bodied, soft and a bit too warming on the palate. Lasting flavor with alcohol, loads of wonderful dark dried fruits, a hint of vanilla and a little sweetness. Some bitterness too it seems. Yet another wonderful one. 130809

2013 variety - light ruby, clear, no bubbles. Nose is fruitcake and grape juice. Full body, syrupy, and moderately fizzy. Sugary, malt balls, some powdered chocolate milk. Great! (I prefer the 2012 version)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from trade with Farhaad. Thanks! Pours a dark coppery brown with a thin active khaki head that doesn’t lace too much. Nose is sweet toffee, caramel, citrus, boozy Bourbon and some oak. Taste is very smooth. Velvety mouth feel with a ton of caramel, some roasted characteristics, bitter into a long boozy Bourbon finish. Not overpowering but definitely pleasingly complex.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice clear dark coppery color. Sweet, caramel aroma, taste of caramel and scotch with alcohol finish. It particularly reminds me of sherry-cask finished scotch (which I love).
