Bottle, thanks for the share, it tastes and smells like a barley wine, the beer was quite smooth all in all and very drinkable, it wasn’t overly sweet which was nice, nice offering

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2014 Pours a brown copper with plenty of fine sediment. Head that doesn’t last. An aroma that instantly fills the room as soon as you pop the cap. Malt, toast, caramel, wood, maple, slightly floral, licorice, graham cracker, whoppers, bourbon. A little boozy. Mouthfeel a bit syrupy. There are so many flavors here it’s pretty incredible. Nothing like the regular DBA. The hops don’t stand out but there is a touch of grapefruit,

Bottle shared at Hunaphu Day. Mahogany pour with a small white head. Sweet nutty, toffee, butterscotch, vanilla and caramel. Sweet caramel and toffee up front with vanilla, coconut, oak, burnt toast, brown sugar and molasses. Heavy, warm sweet body and booziness.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours copper/ruby with a small, light beige head. Aroma of oak and vanilla, caramel and toffee malts, and a little bit of hops. The oak and malts dominate this beer, with a nice toffee and malty finish. Smooth texture. A good beer, but I feel like it could be better and have more of everything, especially hops.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours clear dark copper with low white head. Aroma is brilliant! Butterscotch, toffee, oh, fuck it, what else do you need? Taste is equally amazing. A perfect balance between hop bitterness and caramel malt sweetness. Finish is mellow sweet with just the right hint of hop bitter. Body is medium and creamy with low carbonation. A surprising booziness for the style but then the ABV is not exactly typical for the style either. If every ESB was like this, I'd never drink anything else.

Aromaa.. MOTHERFUCKER! Butterscotch, dark fruits, loads of caramel malts
Sweet, buttery, full bodied, low bitterness, low corbonation... Doesnt matter. This is perfection! FW is the best brewery around!
