COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DDBA is our flagship beer brewed at double strength. It is amazingly similar in many respects to our barrel fermented DBA and possesses everything we love about that beer times two. English caramel malts lend rich toffee character that pairs well with assertive medium toast American oak barrels.

Bottle thanks to timfoolery: Poured a mohogany brown with little to no tan color head. Aroma is strong whiskey booze, caramel malts, and very hot to the nose. Strong booze and alcohol singe the tip of my tongue, but slowely reveals a nice caramel malt.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served with a murky, brownish mahogany hue, a modest hat of off white/light tan foam that reduced quickly to a narrow ring & light layer, and left a thin syrupy film, and a few, nearly transparent spots on the glass. The aroma presented some light spice, dark fruit & caramelly sweetness, and alcohol presence, with mellow, woody/oaky hints. The flavor mimicked the aroma notes and added some whisky and a pronounced warming quality, a complementary amount of hop bitterness, light stickiness to the texture, and a noticeable but mild, flavor enhancing spritz to the tongue, while projecting a little better than medium body. Nicely blended, and warmingly sippable!

22oz bottle $14.99 Picked this up off the strength of all teh Anniversary beers, Parabola, and Abacus. I figured it would not let me down but I was mistaken. Dark amber color, scant head. Aroma is booze and oak and more booze, meh. Flavor is just real boozy with notes of oak barrels. It really lacks the toasted coconut character I enjoy in their barrel aged beers. For me (and my friend who split it with me) this was a real letdown. I’m just glad I only bought the one bottle. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-04-2012 19:17:21

Trade with Daknole. Mohagony pour with a tan head. Aroma is sweet, oak, bourbon, and dark fruit. Taste- damn this is good. The flavor zaps you with all its goodness- sweet malt, wood, dark fruits, hints of bourbon. This is one of thos beers you drink slow because you don’t want it to end. My only problem was that I shared half with my brother.

Boxed Grey-waxed bomber from Capone’s. Pours chill hazy deep caramel with dark straw bottom edge and 2-fingers of fluffy well-retained off-white head. Nose is rich oaky toffee, bourbony spirits, honey, hos, fruit. Tastes very oaky, dry, bourbony, with hops, toffee, caramelly malt, and more spirity bourbon as it warms, getting a profile a lot like single malt bourbon on the rocks. Finishes very hot, and obliterates the beer/spirit boundary line. This one is stellar.

Ruby brown, a little head. Sweet smells, caramel, oak. Sweet, vanilla oaked, caramel syrupy taste. Very nice sipper, boozy for sure but the sweetness saves. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From 2012 Bottle. Deep orange-red pour with almost no head. Aroma is a light scent of booze and bourbon. Taste is sweet malt-forward, with oak complexity and bourbon in the back end. Flavors become more complex as it warms.

Bottle. Pours a nice mahogany red color with a off white head. Aroma is really nice, lots of oak, bourbon and vanilla, I also get wine gums, caramel, toffee, coconut and dark fruits. The flavor follows the nose, lots of complex barrel character, I get oak, bourbon, vanilla, coconut and bourbon soaked dark fruits, along with regular dark fruit flavors, lights sugar/molasses notes, caramel, toffee and wine gums. The body is medium with a silky texture. Overall a really nice brew, Firestone Walker RULES!!!

Chestnut brown with a bit of white head and nucleating bubbles within. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and boozey pineapple. Taste is mostly the same, but lighter and sweeter than I’d expected. The oxidized barrel notes are definitely there, as is the bourbon, and some cola notes. $14/22oz

Pour dark deep mahogany brown, with a small light off-white head. Aroma of banana, caramel, toffee, oak, slight coconut, some old hop-character as well. Plenty of subtle barrel character... Very delicious. The taste is pretty sweet upfront, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Slight heat in the throat. The amount of barrel notes is so well made, while being very subdued. Once again... Delicious. Medium body with a rather watery texture, and a semi-flat carbonation. This beer is very complex, while being so subtle. Thanks to Scott for sending me this..!
