COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DDBA is our flagship beer brewed at double strength. It is amazingly similar in many respects to our barrel fermented DBA and possesses everything we love about that beer times two. English caramel malts lend rich toffee character that pairs well with assertive medium toast American oak barrels.

It poured a hazy reddish amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma was of oak, vanilla, caramel, toffee and light fuittiness. The taste was of oak, vanilla, toffee, light carmel and light fruittiness with a crisp dry lingering oak finish. A very good DBA.

Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany color wit ha pillowtop eggshell head. Aroma is caramel, prune, fig, vanilla, oak. Taste is sweet with a bit of alcohol warmth. This beer is amazingly smooth and easy to drink. The only indication that the beer is 12% abv is the alcohol warmth in the finish. Good beer.

Pours hazy amber with a decent white head. Smells and tastes tangy and bitter all over, the bitters are quite prevalent. The heat is there, on the tongue with the bitters and an ABV of 12.

22oz bottle. Rating #74. Hazy dark amber color with an off-white head. Powerful aroma, vanilla and wood eith some booze and a slight hoppiness followed by some caramel as well. Nice flavor, a little alcohol heat with more vanilla and it keeps warming down the back of my throat. Nice! (2470)

65cl, Vintage 2012, as Firestone Double DBA, exclusive American brew, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex brew, sweet/alcoholic and slightly spicy/woody, very heavy, not balanced, cloudy, small head, good brew, yet very expensive!

On tap at Rustico. Served in a snifter. Overly hot with some caramel on the background. A bit of plum and raisin behind that. Moderate sweetness. Full body. Meh.

On tap @ Chuckís 85th. Pours light reddish brown with almost no head. Aroma is toffee, licorice, and huge rum notes. Taste is big caramel malts, brown sugar, bourbon, raisins, with only a hint of bittering hops. Hard to conceal 12% abv. Sticky and sweet. Firestone Walker is great, but DBA is a pretty average beer. Hard to believe these are related.

Tap: hazy reddish-brown with thin white head. Aroma is sherry-like with wood, bourbon, vanilla, molasses and alcohol. Flavor is bourbon, caramel, vanilla, and a little cherry with a growing booziness as it warms. Palate is rather silky with a big sweetness that is overtaken with a boozy hotness. I liked it better at a cooler temp, less boozy and more flavora came thru. Nice, could use some agong but Iíd drink again.

Moderately strong aroma of bourbon and oak, not much else. Hazy ochre, headless. Wooooo, boozy Bourbon, nougat, vanilla flavor. Far too boozy for my liking. Ugh, I just donít find any enjoyment in beers like this.

Aroma of malts, booze, wood, and cherries. Remarkable flavors of whiskey, wood, dark fruit/raisins, bitter hops, with a hint of vanilla. Superb mouthfeel. Yes itís a little hot right now, but thatís to be expected and I canít wait to try it in 6 months. Tasted at 60F.
