COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DDBA is our flagship beer brewed at double strength. It is amazingly similar in many respects to our barrel fermented DBA and possesses everything we love about that beer times two. English caramel malts lend rich toffee character that pairs well with assertive medium toast American oak barrels.

Bottle from a trade on the West Coast. Poured into snifter at home. Deep amber red with small head that lasted 20 seconds. Amazing aroma of oak barrel, caramel, toffee, spices and fresh leather. Taste lives up to the aroma with heavy malts, oak barrel, caramel, toffee, spices and hint of vanilla and nuts. Medium to full body, light carbonation, almost a creamy mouth feel. Oak barrel on the finish. I must come clean though. I fucked up and left the bottle in the freezer for 5 hours after wanting to do a quick chill. I think it lost some carbonation. But the flavor was still amazing.

Beautiful, radiant, fiery autumn with a creamy white head. Phenomenal aroma. Base represented well. Bread, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, fantastic bourbon barrel perfectly integrated. Medium to full body. Slick. Not overly boozy but no wimp either. Pleasant warmth. Creamy vanilla and bourbon finish. Wouldn’t call it sweet or bitter. Sophisticated. Coconut and vanilla grow a bit cloying towards the end. Enjoyed first night at new place.

Tap: Dingy copper center with translucent, burnt amber edges; a gray-beige, thin film rests on top for a while. Aroma of smooth, oaky coconut, light maple syrup, sticky sweet toffee & caramel, tons of malt sugars, & a light lacing of booziness that flows in & out, adding a good bit of layering to the already complex aroma. Smells like a barrel aged barley wine, almost. Taste is that way, too. Caramel candies coated with a smooth bourbon & dark raisin reduction. Toffee, woody coconut, hints of more dark fruit. Lingering sweet vanilla, oak, & caramel in the finish; a lasting warmth from the booze balanced by a nice, malty sweetness. I’m not a huge fan of the original DBA, but this is a whole other monster. Very nice beer.

Pours a dark chocolate black color with a nice tan head. Aroma is sweet malts, coffee, cherries, and caramel. The taste is heavy wood, cherry syrup, sticky sweet malts, light coffee, 100% amazing. One of the best beers I’ve had in a long time.

On tap at Cottonwood. Pours a cloudy copper amber with beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong candy sugar and wood. Medium mouthfeel with sweet caramel and candy sugar, light wood, and booze. Very good.

Brown with an off white head. Nose is pure cocoa and vanilla, Oak all around. On the tongue there is very subtle carbonation. Very very creamy. Cocoa also on the tongue, slight subtle heat but very complex. Another fantastic barrel aged beer from this brewery!

Pour is dark copper with a small amount of tan head. Nose is heavy bourbon, light oxidation, brown sugar, faint dried caramel. Full, luscious body, fairly smooth and creamy with just a bit of grittiness. Flavors are sweet with strong bourbon up front, a hint of paper, lots of malt sugar with brown sugar and caramel flavors. Moderately strong carbonation and a dry finish that brings a hint of booziness and a lingering spice to it.

Como dia o Afonso, "uma quebra de paradigmas". Equilíbrio perfeito em um trabalho impecável desta cervejaria.

Pours a nice ruby color. Smells of oak and toasted coconut. Taste is similar: oak, coconut, and vanilla. Very flavorful without being to sweet. Awesome beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2yr old bottle. Pours copper color with a sticky foam that dissipates. The aroma is rich of oak and booze. It has a buttery carmel scent too. In the flavor there is a nice booziness, soft bourbon, mild bitterness, spices, and a defined sweetness from the malts. There is a possible sugar sweetner added to this beverage. Overall the finish is a nice blending of ingredients with an intensity of sweetness and dryness. It was not too bitter, malty, or boozy. I’d have this again.
