4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Marsiblursi (2675) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 27, 2012
(Bottle) Pours clear golden with a cream off-white head. The aroma holds overripe yellow fruits/tropical fruit salad, watermelon, hard candy, floral perfume, olive oil, old/light sweaty sock, sweet citrus (orange, tangerines, mild lime peel and grapefruits) and green-ish hints of grass, pines and mild minty/peppery herbs. Undertones of toasted malt, doughy bread and honey. Juicy, fresh and candy-sweetish on the nose. The flavor is light to medium sweet, near medium bitter and tiny to light acidic. Super juicy flavor of orange, grapefruit, tangerine, mango, peach, lychee and passion fruit. Herbal, piney and grassy undertones. Touch of toast, honey, doughy bread and caramel. The mouthfeel is clean (minus the yeastiness), juicy, soft and tiny astringent with a light to medium carbonation. Citric, tropical, piney and herbal finish. Medium bodied. Passar bra till smörgåstårta.

There’s a lot of mediocre IPA/DIPA’s out there. But each time I taste Double Jack, preferably fresh, I know that I still like hoppy beer, if they are well made. One of my favorites.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Garito793 (181) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 26, 2012
A truly superb Double IPA.
Ar: Extremely hoppy (citrus) with a little bit of pine as well. Caramel malts are quite apparent as well. A very well-balanced brew.
Ap: Pours an amber-orange with a nice, large white head.
T: Grapefruit and other citrus hops, although certainly not the most bitter IPA. There is some sweetness here as well, though perhaps not as much as the aroma might suggest.
P: Medium-to-heavy body.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 ttutony (538) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2012
Copper color in the glass. Pleasant fruity, citrus, resin hop aroma. Quite bitter but not in an unpleasant way, it all stays in balance overall. My first beer from this brewery and I must say I am impressed.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 MadDogMD (32) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - APR 24, 2012
(from notes- tasting party) Pours a light orange, w/ some white, creamy bubbles. Love the nose on this! Peach, apricot, citrus. Nice malt backbone to support all of the hops. Fruity, sweet. One of my faves!

This beer is worth the price simply for the aroma! Smells like heaven. Rapidly becoming my go-to beer. So glad that it is readily available locally. Rates up there with the best West Coast DIPAs for sure.
3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Onenote81 (902) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 23, 2012
Originally reviewed: 3/20/12. Brought back a bottle of this from my recent trip out to Cali. Bottled on 1/26/12.
Poured into a tall goblet. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a thick white foamy head capping it off. Sticky globs of lace cling to the glass. The aroma on this one is stellar. Big citrus notes of tangerine, orange, grapefruit; light lemony-pine scent as well. Floral and sweet, just how I like it.
This one is lacking in bite, as the beer is quite smooth, almost erring on thin. This goes down really slick. The flavors are not as pronounced as I had hoped. The citrus character is almost muted, and the hops are not all that flavorful. The alcohol comes forward a bit as there is an ethanol wash on the finish. I was really excited for this one, but it ended up a bit of a letdown. Not a terrible beer, just a slightly above average one.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 pinkzambia (1189) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 23, 2012
Tap @ The Front Door: Crystal clear like dark apple juice. Nice fuzzy head and abounding with juniper aroma. On first taste, you are confronted with a TON of taste - junipers, apricots, pine needles, some grapefruit rind and alcohol. The aftertaste is a bit musty and not as sweet and syruppy as many 2 IPAs but still excellent!

20 apr 2012, bottle. Light gold and. clear. Nose is equally faint alcohol and grapefruit hops with prominent strong ale malt. Med body, slightly sugary, dainty fizzy. Pretty alright. Some strong ale alcohol with faint alcohol twinge and some reding bitterness.
