3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle from the 300 East liquor store in SLC - Pours a crystal clear yellow color with a medium sized pure white head that sticks around forever. Aroma is full of green resiny hops, with notes of grapefruit and touches of light caramel and faintly toasted malts. Flavor is fairly hoppy with grapefruit notes, touches of caramel and lightly chewy malts. Finish is balanced but with a slight residual sweetness. This is basically a strong version of union jack, almost identical in fact. Its almost like you took a bottle of union jack and poured in everclear. Itís very good, much like union jack. However, I sort of think a double IPA should be different than a regular IPA, not just an identical but stronger version of an IPA. Nevertheless this is still very good.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The aroma is delightfully unique. The citrus / fruit reminds me of a chewing gum product that I can not name but is very familiar. Very balanced taste, sweet up front from the malt with a long hoppiness linger. Maybe, just maybe kick up the hops a few IBUs (that is my CO side of me talking). best beer Iíve had from Firestone!

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2012 Re-rate: 1/12, on draft, multiple times from my sixtel from SL. Original rating is moving up from a 4.9 to a perfect 5.0. You can do no better from the style. Original rating: Pour was golden to very light orange with a nice thin and well-sustained white head. The aroma was friggin awesome grapefruits and tangerines and faint resinous notes. The flavor was rich citrus grapefruits and tangerines with some great herbal hops and wood barrel notes. This thing was absolutely wonderful and Iíd have rated it a 4.0 if not a single tasting. Mouthfeel was tingly if not spicey, great moderate body and dry finish.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours golden with a thin white head. Nose is bitter with grassy hops, honey, and citrus. Smooth and tangy to start with a malty gliding start and a finish of complex citrus hop, sage, resin, and faint nutmeg. A hop haven. nice beer with no telling element of the hefty alcohol it hides.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy orange, bubbly with small white head. Aroma of an evergreen forest with some grapefruits and flowers around. Medium-full body, a bit of alcohol, not much, some mild carbonation. Nicely bitter hop flavor more piney than citrusy with restrained malt balance and long finish. Pretty much just like I would want an IIPA to be.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Spicy citrus and pine oil aroma. Bready malt balance. Intense hop character.
The appearance is bright, clear orange. tons of carbonation. Decent head retention.
The flavor is spicy, woody hop at first; burns the tongue a bit. Malts of earthy amber stock; red and spicy. Some finished wood. (Great burp!) Very spiced up. An alcoholic burn at the end.
The feel is chewy, fizzy, thick and very sticky. A big, woody Imperial IPA with a solid balance. Burns just a little.

22 oz bomber
Aroma: pine/citrus/spicy/earthy hops
Taste: get a lot of the same hop profile with additional bitterness/resin, sweet malts, light toasted malt
This is one of the best IIPAs that I have had. Will have to buy more while I still can.
