Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

Pours clear copper-amber with a head of bone white soft foam that fell gracefully to some really gorgeous lace. The entire inside of the glass is coated with fine white lace. Beautiful! Nose is tantalizing. Tropical fruits, tangerine, melon, doughy malt, nutty, grass and floral with a tad bit of spice in back. Alcohol doesn’t come to the nose at all. Smells clean and vibrant. You could describe the nose as glowing it’s so animated. Taste follows the nose. You are greeted with oily hop resins and bitter, those delicious fruits all juicy and some nutty flavor from the strong caramel malt that has more bread than you think. Finishes dry with good bitter, earth and dank.

This was one of the most artful west coast DIPA’s I’ve had. Everything in balance and playing off one another. Bitter like crazy but not offensive. Fruits were so juicy up against the alcohol dryness and hop bitter. Alcohol is a little bit on the palate but it belongs there. You are left with the sweet taste of pine like a gracious afterthought. Smooth, really smooth. Original, strapping, unconfined.

Bottle: Pours a glowing copper/orange color with a large creamy sand colored head. Intense aroma permeates the room; citrus, pine, and caramel. Potent. The flavor highlights the quality of the indgrediants, but without being an abrasive hop bomb. Huge citrus and tropical fruit notes, caramel, and lingering pine resin... all things good in a DIPA. In my eyes, this really hits the mark for the style.

Bottle. The look is clear, nice creamy off white head, and copper colored. The smell is pine, hops, orange, fruit, jumping, and great. The taste is hoppy, bitter, fruit, biting but not too much, pine, grass, and good. Pretty much exactly what I want in a DIPA. Well rounded and just really good.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2013 Perfect tangerine aroma thick mouthfeel balance that gets muttled through a bottle. Nice brew good flavor not to bitter but your tongue will be tired by the end of a bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a tangerine orange pour with a nice cream colored head. Nose is a deep citrus with sweet hoppiness and pine. Taste is sweet with good bitterness and full of myriad of citrus. Finish is sweet and bitter, with nice lingering. Quaff Score 9 / 10

Pours a golden with an off white head and sweet aroma of hops and citrus. Taste is bittersweet, lots of citrus, hops, pine, and pineapple with a warning bitter, long finish. Lots of hoppy flavor, and a very enjoyable DIPA

Clear dark golden with a medium white bubbly head. Intense fruity, grapefruit aroma with some piney resinous notes. Flavor is intense hopyness, orange/ grapefruit, strong hop flavor but balanced and not astringent bitterness, great. Medium to full palate, coating flavor, some alcohol warm but just enough to remind its there. Very solid.
