Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

Ar: Burst of tropical fruits, pineapple, citric, resinous, grapefruit, mango, passionfruit, some perfume and maltiness under all the lovely hop notes, Ap: Amber colour, extremely creamy beige head, lots of lacing. T: big bite but also lots and lots of malts to balance it, lovely retro nasal action of tropical fruits, Behind the grapefruity resinous first onslaught. Long lingering bitterness, paired with a warming finish. P: soft carbonation, full body. T: very nice indeed, Only downside is That for My particular taste the thick maltbase somewhat subdues the hops.

Beautiful double IPA. Hits all the right notes. Nice bouquet. Deep orange color. Hoppy, citrus flavor while not being crazy bitter. Perhaps a standard bearer for the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The beer pours a deep copper color with an strong white head. The citrus aroma of grapefruit is noticeable as soon as the cap comes off the bottle. The flavor is full-bodied and rich in citrus fruit mixed with pine resin. The sweet malt comes through at the end. The mouthfeel is thick with a clean finish. An excellent and flavorful libation.

Golden pour with a white head. Complex blend of grapefruit, mango, peach, and orange fruits. Bread malt, pine resin, and grass are also present. Spicy, sweet, and crisp, though a bit too highly carbonated. Bitterness of the hops mixes with the alcohol and dominates the finish.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2013 Spicy aroma with a hint of citrus. Perfect mouth feel; harsh, almost abrupt finish.

The best imperial IPA I have had to date. The color is a little misleading, due to the pale amber hue. One might expect a darker more ominous shade. The taste is surprisingly complex and yet subtle. One taste and I was singing it's praises. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, shared with BBGTC, Foffern and Gunnar. Pours a clear orange body with a medium white head. Nose is intense hoppy grass, fruit and syrup, cat pee, herbs, dry leaves and hints of caramel. Nice. Taste is fruity peachy tones, grapefruit, grass, cat pee, hints of apricot and parsley. Full body, soft carbonation. A straightforward, yet very solid and DIPA in all respects.

22 oz bomber. Medium copper color. Nice two finger head. Aromas of pine and citrus but mostly sweet malt. Hop flavored are masked by the malt but bottle may have been aged. Pine and malt dominate. Not bad but I won’t go out of my way to find again.
