Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

I like my IPAs a little hoppier in the nose than this was. That said, it was otherwise a very spectacular beer. Kinda creamy mouthfeel, great bitterness, alcohol very well hidden. I would definitely buy this again if it wasn’t so expensive in Germany. (11€ per 650ml bottle)

Has big bold scents of hops, sweet and malty notes as well. Taste is a nice balance of malt and hops, has a nice bitter hop flavor, smooth finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had on tap at Palmer Place. Served in a tulip. A: Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a nice off-white head. Sticky lace follows me down the glass. S: Nice notes of citrus and some grassy with a little grapefruit. T: Citrus smoothness, some grapefruit with a nice fruity sweetness up front. The malt body comes through in the middle and finishes a little bitter hops bite. M: Medium to light bodied with a coating quality to it. Nicely carbonated. O: Very solid offering from FW. The flavors blended together nicely. I haven’t been disappointed by any of their offerings yet. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 10-16-2011

Aroma - Sweet, a bit of pine and citrus Appearance - Clear Orange, minimal head Taste - lightly to medium sweet Palate - Medium body, thin texture with soft carbination and lightly bitter finish. Other notes: served in 12oz snifter, ten minutes after in fridge. Very well balanced beer. Great IIPA if you’re not looking to get your tongue kicked in by hops. Another great beer by FSW. Cheers!

Pours clear amber with a thick white head and lots of lace. Aromas are wonderful fruity hops. Taste follows suit with the aroma, tons of bitterness, medium body well hidden alcohol. This is a palate wrecker!

Bottle at Ben’s. Thanks Craig. Light Amber with a white head. Aroma is tropical with lots of Pines and some caramel. Not wildly bitter. Well balanced and not particularly radge. Safe by IIPA standards.

A showcase for hops which are wonderfully aromatic and flavorful without excessive bitterness. The hops are nicely balanced by the malt and perhaps the alcohol content. The grapefruit nose comes through in the taste and is a real plus for me.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2013 Growler from Bowery Whole Foods: Pours a rich golden with pretty good clarity and a strong off white head. Huge bouquet- huge pine, bright citrus and lychee. Has a nice velvety body. Smooth carbonation and firm body without being sticky nor cloying. Big flavor with lots of citrusy hops, lychee, a firm doughy malt back (subtle) and a huge long bitter piney finish. Very clean and hoppy. A great westcoast IIPA.

Keg at BrewDog. Bright orange golden pour, thin white bubbles. Big grapefruit, light pineapple, big pine resin on the nose. Rich, resinous pine, grapefruit, maybe a little too much caramel malt, big boozy resin on the finish. Pretty standard American DIPA.
