COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

Bottle. A transparent golden coloured ale. Thin off-white head. Floral aroma with citrus fruits, especially tangerine and lime then honeydew melon and avocado. Full bodied. Bitter flavour with ripe cantaloupe, pine, damp wood and earth, tropical fruits, biscuit and tea. Long, moderately bitter finish. Thanks Peter for sharing this one!

Pours brilliant crystal clear deep straw. Really nice aroma, sharp and rounded. Flavor is hoppy but smooth hoppiness it really is well done. Lingering hops all the way to the finish. Really great beer. Does not show it’s 9.5%.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber into a goblet. No freshness info on bottle. I suspect that it was rubbed off. Appearance: Pours a clear light golden-amber color with yellow-orange highlights and a 2 finger fluffy eggshell head. Very nice lacing. Smell: Sweet citrus with a touch of pineapple and grapefruit and hints caramel and candied malts. There’s just a whiff of alcohol in the aroma. Smells delicious. Taste: Bitter grapefruit and caramel malt up front followed by resinous piney hops and a mild candied sweetness in the middle before ending with lemon zest and pine at the finish. Aftertaste is bitter with a touch of sweet citrus and is quite long-lasting. The alcohol is subdued and just creeps through at the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-to-full-bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. The tongue gets coated with hop oils which leave a sort of film which, in this case, is a good thing. Drinkability: Very good drinkability. I’m savoring this one and will have no problem finishing the bomber. Overall: Excellent beer overall. I’d love to try one that I know is fresh to be able to see if I missed anything. I found this one to be great, so if it gets better than this you’re in for a real treat. Try it.

Poured into tulip. Nice head retention. Orange with good clarity. Awesome lacing. Big fragrant citrus and fruit monster. Bit of spicy juniper in there as well. Good malt backbone with carmel notes. A bit woody in the nose. Intensely bitter and juicy, with a long, lingering citrus and mango finish. All the malt to back this up. Not a trace of alcohol present. Every conversation concerning the top DIPA’s in the world needs to have this in it.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2013 Poured from bottle. Beautiful clear amber color. WOW. The aroma is wonderful: floral, citrus, pine, a very complex smell. Fruity, but not overwhelming. Hoppy, but not too much. The taste is smooth, lightly sweet, but hoppy. There is a malty smell/taste that provides some body, but not too thick. Surprising alcohol at 9.5%, but you will never know. Overall this is an impressive DIPA. It has moved into my favorite category. (6/24/2012) I bumped my rating of this beer up. I had it again (12/27/2012), and it was every bit as good if not better than I remembered. That often does not happen.

Amazing aroma of pine, honey, vanilla, grapes, citrus. Golden colour with not a lot of head. Taste is well balanced, bitter and sweet, citrus. Awesome DIPA.

Not as hoppy as a lot of double IPAs but the hops are nice and floral with a great malt sweetness. Easy to drink but packs a punch. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is one of my favorite DIPAs, golden pour with a white head, Citrua and hoppy with some caramel malts on the nose, wonderful hoppiness on the flavor and smooth and creamy. This beer is awesome.

Poured from 22oz bomber, pours a crystal clear light golden/orange with a thin head and some lacing, the arom has a ton of citrus and hops, the flavor has a dank wet hop front end with some citrus and mango in the finish, nice mouthfeel, very smooth. It hides the 9.5% extremely well, good stuff.
