Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

Pours crystal clear. Light amber. Creamy head. Nose: Wonderful citrus hops explode from the glass. Palate: Medium body, flavorful, very citrusy/lemony hops, warm alcohol, but not harsh, finishes dry for a double. Conclusion: Imperial IPA’s are not my favorites, however Firestone walker did a great job ballancing this big boy. It’s a solid imperial; Firestone Walker does not make bad beer!

Clear radiant orange amber with big frothy off-white head. Great hop aroma. Fruity and spicy. Bigger medium body. Firm bitterness but never sharp or unbalanced or unpleasant or outlasting its welcome. Alcohol hidden well. Such drinkability for such a big beer. Nice.

Super citrusy aroma. Grapefruit, orange/tangerine. A good hops/malt mix in the aroma as well. Taste is spot on. The malts subdue the hoppiness a lot, though you can still taste both. More orange/tangerine in the taste than grapefruit to me at least. delicious.

Pours with a nice white head, which settles to a fine layer. Massive burst of hops in the aroma, mostly the Simcoe and Centennial to me. Lots of citrus and resin here with lasting bitterness. A bit of alcohol warming. Very drinkable.

355ml bottle from Brewdog online store. Pours a clear orange amber colour with a frothy white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of caramel, mango, citrus & pine resin, earthy, hoppy. Flavour is sweetish malt caramel nicely balanced with tropical fruits, peach, floral orange, grapefruit & pine, grassy bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation, dry earthy bitter finish. Very drinkable DIPA!

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 26 Sep 2014) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, citrus, honey, hints of basil and lots of fresh hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, pine needles, biscuits, peaches and a solid, fresh, citric bitterness in a finish with a slight alcohol bite. Almost full body, with balanced sweetness. Excellent DIPA with an impressive hop character. Lovely beer!

Bottle thanks to Justin. Another needless extra. This guy is killing me. Nose is super citrus and dank. light copper color. Minimal white head. Taste is immediately bitter with a light malt backbone. Hop flavor is moderately citrus. Overall pretty good.

Pours hazy pale color with lots of head. Aroma is amazing. Smells like fresh hops. Grapefruit grassy with citrus notes. Taste is full body with lots of malt character followed by wonderful grapefruit and hay hop bitterness.

Orangebrun klar med høyt beige skum. Lukter sitrus, ananas og fersken. Bittersøt smak, mye frisk sitrussødme. Kjenner alkoholen. Bitterheten sitter lenge.

Bright, clear amber appearance with a large, off white head and lots of lacing. Resinous hop aroma behind the citrus and soft fruit. Pine and citrus hop flavors dominate although modest malts emerge on the back of the palate. Unique, complex aftertaste; there’s the bitter, spicy, herbal hops, and the alcohol bite, but also a hint of wood. Full-to-medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel with a long lasting finish.
