COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

From a three part tasting at Churchkey (Peeper, Corruption, Double Jack). Clearly the most complex of the three. Grapfruit, apricot, floral notes. Full bodied. Medium brown, slightly cloudy. Rich and tactile mouthfeel. Nice balance of hops and malt. Concentrated and complex.

From a 22 oz bomber, bottle date 12/08/14. Enjoyed late January, 2015. Pours a golden orange, 1-2 finger soapy off white head. Ample carbonation, bubbles streaming up sides. Aroma is just nice, orange, pineapple, grapefruit, all kinds of citrus. I hate to use this word, but it’s just juicy. Taste follows the aroma, citrus and pine. Hefty amount of malt here keeps the bitterness pretty low. Super easy drinking. Carbonation makes it prickly in the mouth, but I like it. Sticky on the finish. Currently the best big IPA I’ve had.

CBC 2014. Golden with a thick and lasting white head. Citrus hoppy aroma, with lots of orange and some lime, along with pine notes. Cryish citrus hoppy flavour with bready malt. Very bitter, but not in an aggressive way.

Fluffy white head, 2 1/2 fingers in depth. Hazy appearance and orange-yellow in color. Aroma is grapefruit and other citrus flavors w/ a malty backbone. Flavor is grapefruit, other tropical fruits, pine needles with a caramel backbone that moderates the bitterness. There is also a sweetness, possibly honey along with herbal notes. Great IPA

Bottle from cellarbrations super store in hami hill. Pours orange with a thick creamy head, leaning lots of nice lacing. Aroma is resinous and citrusy. In the mouth it has a medium body and moderate carbonation. Taste is aggressively bitter with loads of grape fruit and tangerine. One of the best I've had!

Very good ipa. Lots of citrus and grapefruit flavor and a good malt - hops balance. Just bitter enough and highly carbonated -- does not drink like it has a 9.5 abv!

Quite bitter, not the usual hop heavy double, lighter feeling as a result, but still with that big ABV. Heavy on the tongue but I love the golden hue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Ginger Man, New York. Pours orange with lasting white head. Malt, caramel and fruity hops in aroma. Sweet malty caramel fruit flavor with dry lasting bitter finish.

Golden coloured and hazy. Has a white head, lasting. Hoppy aroma, fruity and faint rubber. Flavor starts sweet, sugars and hoppy. Laqurice?

Bottle dated 10/30/15. For today, this was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a nice looking hazy orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Lotsa nice foamy lacing stuck finely to the glass. The smell had a sweet sticky grapefruit-esque leading to fine subtle juicy citrus and decent underscore of pine to balance. The taste was pure bittersweet and refined to a sly subtle sticky citrusy conglomeration of pine. The aftertaste was mainly bitter that lead to a slightly dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body. 9.5% - really? Maybe closer when its fresh, not necessarily now. Still good and has a decent substantial carbonation to pound my tongue into submission. Overall, pretty good DIPA that I would have again. I’ll definitely seek fresher my next chance.

Picked up a bomber at Total Wine in Glendale Arizona. Bottle dated 11/24/14, so it is a bit aged Aroma. Older bottle so the aroma is pretty faint. Appearance - good looking beer. Great golden color. Palate - very good mouthfeel. Doesn’t feel like a 9% beer. Overall - good beer, I enjoyed the fresher Union Jack better, but I would try this again if it were fresher.
