Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

22oz bottle served in a snifter Bottled on 1/4/13 A - Pours a clear brassy amber with a tight knit white head that retains well through the entirety of the glass. Pretty drops of lacing. S - Sticky pine fills the nostrils, mandarin oranges, red grapefruit, dried stone fruit, pineapple, alcohol, has a bit of woody potpourri aroma as it warms up. T - Sweet tropical and citrus fruit with mix of smooth green pine bitterness, mango and dried papaya stand out alot, candied lemon peels, the steely caramel malt has a cotton candy-like sweetness and rounds out very well. Finishes clean and semi dry with a green piney bitterness. The aftertaste consists of sweet citrus and thin caramel. M - Very smooth feel, medium chewy body, micro carbonation, very nice mouthfeel. A well crafted beer indeed. The aroma and feel are the beers strong points. A solid dose of hop flavor with just the right amount of bitterness. Citrus overtakes the pine as it warms, the malt is steely and sweet but has a lightness to it as well as a high quality character. I love every beer I’ve had from this brewery so far. Wow. Great flavor. Enjoyed the balance. Slight alcohol on palate but not over powering. Loved the pour. Always enjoy Firestone. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a bright gold and clear with a quickly receding white head. Aroma is caramel and lemon-centered. Taste starts off caramel sweet with citrus and stone fruit behind it. Finishes sweet with lingering bitterness. Medium-heavy bodied with a lot of sticky sweetness. A little alcohol heat, but it’s hidden behind the sweetness. Overall: Decent, but a bit too much on the sweet/caramel side to be really drinkable. The finish especially is sweet and a little syrupy rather than crisp and dry. A good DIPA, but not one of the more drinkable ones.

Bottled. Cloudy pale amber color, creamy head. Caramel infused resiny aroma, sweet floral notes and fresh peach juice, slightly acidic grapes. Heavy maltiness with plenty of caramel flavor, but not sweet. Bitterness could be stronger, but this was an aged individual. Highly resinous finish. Almost full bodied, frothy texture is fresh. Very good!

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a small but lasting white creamy to frothy head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is of resin, rich tropical fruit, floral and citrus. Lightly sweet and medium bitter taste, with flavors of juicy grapefruit, honey, sweet tropical fruit. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation and a lightly bitter and long finish. Solid malt backbone and not hint of alcohol. Wow.
