UPDATED: APR 20, 2011 What can I say?
The most complex, fruitiest DIPA I’ve ever tasted, and the fruitiest unfruited beer I’ve tasted since Stille Nacht 1996 Reserve. Among the detectable fruity esters, there are grapefruit, mandarin orange, tangerine, peach, plum, agave nectar, cherry, mango, kiwi, lemon, lime, marion berry, and strawberry.
The finish is luxuriously long, and that seltzer quality slightly dries out the finish, and really adds a sprightly tingle.
Add to this a great malt backbone that has a fruitiness all its own with a substantial body (similar to Hercules, but not as syrupy and weighty.
The floral hoppiness in this beauty almost rivals the Plinys, and after awhile a seltzery saltiness develops, and while I’m not normally a fan of seltzer, it works perfectly here, and leaves one craving another taste.
Perfection.

This is a great beer. Has a sweet taste, followed by the hoppy bitterness. Love this stuff. Bought a growler of this a week ago, highly recommend it.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2012 Re-rate: 1/12, on draft, multiple times from my sixtel from SL. Original rating is moving up from a 4.9 to a perfect 5.0. You can do no better from the style. Original rating: Pour was golden to very light orange with a nice thin and well-sustained white head. The aroma was friggin awesome grapefruits and tangerines and faint resinous notes. The flavor was rich citrus grapefruits and tangerines with some great herbal hops and wood barrel notes. This thing was absolutely wonderful and I’d have rated it a 4.0 if not a single tasting. Mouthfeel was tingly if not spicey, great moderate body and dry finish.

This beer is worth the price simply for the aroma! Smells like heaven. Rapidly becoming my go-to beer. So glad that it is readily available locally. Rates up there with the best West Coast DIPAs for sure.

A great DIPA. Going broke between bombers of DIPA and six packs of the Union Jack.

Tap. Golden with creamy white head-decent size, decent lacing, decent retention. Smells like I like it. Piney, grape fruity, resent, maybe a little passion fruity. Not a lot of sweetness in the nose. Grapefruit comes through in the flavor, followed by bitter. Not much sweetness here either. Nicer long hop finish, a bit warming, soft carbonation. You’ll put this up amongst the faves. Was just reminded of the 5 in the forums today- do here is one for me.

Medium head. Crystal clear with a golden hue. Citrus and hoppy nose. Medium carbonation. Slightly sweet with bold hop flavor. Long dry and bitter finish.

Had while sitting outside watching softball. pour was a nice bodied gold with lasting head that laced well. Aroma was full of sweet pine hops and mild fruits. Flavor was an awesome balance of hops, hops, and hops. There were also hints of very citrusy fruits like grapefruit. Awesome brew.

Color is a light copper color. Smell is strong citrus with slight floral tones. Taste is slightly hoppy but very smooth. One of the most drinkable IPAs I have had.
