COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

The beer pours a deep copper color with an strong white head. The citrus aroma of grapefruit is noticeable as soon as the cap comes off the bottle. The flavor is full-bodied and rich in citrus fruit mixed with pine resin. The sweet malt comes through at the end. The mouthfeel is thick with a clean finish. An excellent and flavorful libation.

Served on-tap at TJís into a snifter.

A - Pours amber orange with a small one finger tall white head leaving little to no lacing down the glass.

S - Smells of sweet caramel malt, HUGE citric fruit punch; most notably grapefruit and mango; Piney hops and a tiny bit of biscuit hiding in the shadows. The booze comes thru a bit once it warms but it is hidden well. This is nice and fresh with a big citric hop aroma that could last for days. Very nice nose.

T - Plenty of grassy hops up front quickly giving way to a mix of citric fruit and sweet caramel malt. The strong citric presence is not as strong here but it is still prominent. The finish is a mix of caramel sweetness and lingering citric hop bitterness. This was enjoyable but a bit of a letdown after that nose.

M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Sticky sweet feel with tons of pungent, grassy, hops lingering on the pallet long after consumption.

O - I really enjoyed this one. The taste was a bit of a letdown but the overall beer was very solid. It isnít Pliny but that is no problem. Thanks again to Matt for putting on another great event!

12 ounce bottle. Bright amber gold color. Small tight white head with nice clinging lace. Subtle pine hop nose. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor has tropical notes, mango, grapefruit and orange. Complex citrus hops are aplenty. This is one tasty brew. Finish is resiny and spicy with bitter notes.

Bottle at Firestone Walker tasting at Beer & Beyond shop. Clear amber with a nice head. Strong and pungent hops driven aroma with mango, honey, grass, wood, pine, tangerine and caramel malts. Sweet with rich fruity (mango, grapefruit), piney and malty flavors, high bitterness, very well balanced. Medium-full bodied, dry-ish and sticky mouthfeel, despite high ABV dangerously drinkable . Great beer.

Picked up one of these up in Colorado, as it isnít distributed to my locale. About 2 months old when I opened it. Golden yellow appearance with a large head. Aroma is delicious citrus/pine hops. Taste is composed of juicy hop bitterness plus a nice sweet malt. Alcohol is very well hidden. Thereís something a bit more complex and different in here than most other DIPAs Iíve had. Great great beer. If you like DIPAs and you havenít had this, you are missing out.

355ml bottle at home (bottled on 21.03.2014). Pours copper with a small head (pretty unusual for an IPA, on the other hand the small head can be explained by the 9,6% ABV). Aroma: a lot of herbs and pine tree, with some slight white fruit aromas in the background. Taste: very well balanced and elegant, at the same time bursting with hops (herbs and pine), with some delicate sweet aromas from malt in the background. The alcohol is very well hidden. A very solid and at the same time dangerous double IPA (due to its incredible drinkability).

Impressionou pelos aromas de grapefruit, tangerina e manga adocicados. Colar branco com tons beges, de bela formação e persistência. Muito saborosa, com amargor muito presente mas aveludado. Álcool presente e equilibrado. Excelente.

Aroma: grapefruit, tangerine, lime, juniper Appearance: pale gold, minimal foamy head Taste: medium bitterness, slight sweetness, slight sourness Palate: bitter finish, medium body, slick texture, average carbonation Great hop composition, well-hidden alcohol. The only disadvantage is the high import price... 12 Euro per 650 ml bottle...

Pours an orangey shade of gold. Well retained orangey head. Taste is luscious and bitter, screams of a new world IPA. Creamy body, stays well on the palate - you dont want to swallow this beer. Perfect.
