COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold color with a small white head that settles to a film that slowly fades as well. Aroma is great: primarily citrus - pungent grapefruit is the strongest. Taste is even better, with probably the most perfect balance of malt and hops that I’ve ever had in a DIPA. The grapefruit theme continues in the finish that surprisingly is not dry like I thought. Great beer! Keep this one coming!!!

Bottle sampled @ Firestone Walker Tasting. Thank you! BBF 10/04/2015. Golden, creamy white. Nose is yeast, citrus, thick dough, honey. Taste is honey, medicinal, citrus peel, caramel, faint pine, decent yeast body. Prob. too old, too yeasty & not really my thing. Okayish. “Instructions were not clear, got penis stuck in bottle.”

This beer does not taste like it has that much alcohol in it. Great colour and aroma, really enjoying this beer.

GABF 2014. Gold color with a small head. Light piney aroma. Very potent bitterness. Light pine and grain flavor.

Citrus/rind, bitter hop aroma; sweet malt. Similar citrus hop flavor, plus a lot of pepper. Sweet, light caramel malt; not as sweet as the aroma -- I assume because of the strong bitterness? Nice melon-like fruity aftertaste.

Reviewed On: (6/22/14): *Glassware: IPA Tulip *Serving: 22 oz *Aroma: citrus, grapefruit, pine, tangerine, tropical fruits *Appearance: Pale Amber with a four finger head. The head has tons of fizzy big bubbles. The head color is off-white. It slowly receded to two fingers of head. Lots of carbonation streaming up to the head is probably why it stayed the way it did. After consuming the beer, a minor amount of lace was left behind. *Taste: Sweet malt upfront, citrus/grapefruit in the middle, and finishes off w/ a pine taste. *Palate: Medium body, oily mouthfeel, lively carbonation on the tongue. Finishes off very dry and bitter. *Overall: A well balanced and crafted Imperial IPA. It has the maltiness, bitterness, and dryness an Imperial IPA should have. An excellent offering from on of my favorite breweries.

"i was told this is an imperial version of Union Jack, which I’ve yet to have, but now may have to find. another very solid entry into the IIPA catergory. sweet fruity estery pine aroma, bittersweet grapefruit flavor. decent body - similar a bit, but thinner than Hop Henge. good stuff, easily the best FSW beer I’ve had to date. 2/11 gotta up it a tenth after holding up so well to the other great dipas at the festival. overall up to a 9."

Pours a clear amber. Has a strong floral hop and caramel aroma. Has a sweet floral and citrus hop flavor with some pines and caramel. Finishes with a string bitter hop aftertaste.

Grapefruit, floral, pineapple, tangerine, dank/resin, cracker, honey, biscuit. Lingering grapefruit rind. Pretty perfect dipa that is burly but controlled.

Excellent XXIPA. Hoppy aroma and peppery hoppyn bitterness. Some alcohol catches me off guard. Overall great beer and will have again. Oh BTW it was in 12 oz bottle
