COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Jack IPA is our first ever Imperial IPA. It features a big malty middle to cloak the high alcohol and mouth puckering hop bitterness. Huge tangerine, grapefruit and juicy fruit aroma blossom over the herbal blue basil and malt earthiness of this aggressive beer. Best enjoyed in moderation.

Pours a golden amber colour, clear with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is quite hoppy with noticeable citrus fruit undertones and some caramel malt. Not very sweet or bitter, but it is consistent and balanced with a slightly greater bitter bite. Creamy mouth feel, medium body and softer carbonation. Overall an awesome double IPA.

When a brewery is able to craft an Imperial IPA that’s intensely hoppy and still extremely drinkable it’s a rare feat. The fact that Double Jack utilizes some extremely aggressive hop varieties (Warrior, Cascade, Amarillo, Simcoe, and Centennial) makes its balance even more impressive. The tremendous malt backbone on this beer allows it to reach a happy medium between malts and hops. (Regrettably, I almost used the unforgivably cheesy term "hoppy medium" to describe the balance. I’ll go sit in a corner for a while.) You first notice the uniqueness of this beer when you see the surprisingly pale color. Hopheads who are thrown off by the appearance will be calmed by the big herbal, floral smell. People who are less excited about hops will be happy to note the smooth malt profile in the aroma. The taste is simply spectacular. Tropical, juicy, and savory flavors all the way through. Hop flavors come with peach, orange, grapefruit, and tangerine while the malt hints at sweet nectar. Finish is crisp, bright, and refreshing. Double Jack is one of those exceptional IPA’s that has the potential to please hop heads and craft beer lovers who are less crazy about bittering agents.

Bottle. A- Peaches, tangerines, citrus, juicy. A- Vibrant orange color, slightly hazy liquid, white head. T- Citrus, tangerines, fruity, juicy, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth juicy finish. O- As damn good of an IPA as you’ll find. So juicy and filled with citrus. Almost like a stronger version of Fresh Squeezed IPA by Deschutes. Not a lot to say about this beer other than it is a fine one.

(bottle - 12 oz) Hazy gold pour with a white head. Piney hop aroma with lots of citrus sweetness. Flavor is piney at the start and bitter throughout and into the end.

Possibly the best beer I have ever drank. Wow. The aroma packed a punch of hoppiness and the taste delivered on it. (Had on tap) Still a 5 on 2.5.14 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Could not help but get a kick out of the previous raters comments. I rate this a bit higher. Aroma more on the herb side and very hoppy can sense the alcohol although somewhat masked. The appearance is he normal golden with a small white head that does not stay. Taste of citrus but the hops seem slightly out of line a heavy bitterness, but not all bad as it is an IPA. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and bitter aftertaste which I don’t mind. All in all a good and perhaps great quality beer but balance is slightly off. Would not say I wouldn’t enjoy again
