Brewmaster Matt Brynildson went to the mountain and returned with a vision for a different kind of Session IPA, one that would be brewed and dry hopped with a globetrotting selection of new hop varieties from Europe, New Zealand and North America. He foresaw a beer that would deliver massive hop aromas, a signature malt balance and an empty glass before you knew what hit you. And so the newest member of our Jack IPA family was born.

12 oz bottle from a six pack bought at Super 1 in Post Falls, ID. Aroma is all grapefruit, all the time. Pours clear golden with a large white head with good retention, leaving lace. Taste is bittersweet and citrusy, finishing with a lingering, but not severe, bitterness. Body is thin--to style--finely carbonated. Nice and well-crafted.

Tin. Nose is pine, melon, light lime, hints of pineapple. Taste is pineapple, lime, hints of melon, grape, mineral, then a light dry pine finish. There is a good malt body and hints of yeast, and grass. This is an outstanding session IPA.

Pours a light orange color with decent head. Tropical aromas with a slant towards mandarin. The taste follows the mandarin aroma very closely. A tad of sweetness balances the hops perfectly. Very enjoyable.

Bottle at home. Crystal clear light golden with short lasting white head. Resin, spruce, lime, pineapple, some dried nectarine or peach, soft mineral notes and dry biscuits. Very light sweetness and almost medium bitter. Light bodied with dry feel. Good use of hops!

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Can from Aeon Liquors. Big grapefruit dominating nose with orange, pine and mango aromas and a touch of lemon as it warms. Really active carbonation with a light body. Very crisp and clean on the palate. Citrusy and bitter finish, but not astringent. A perfect IPA in a can for summer.

Fantastic session beer. Combines the smoothness of a pale ale with the assertive citrus freshness of a potent IPA.
