Pours a clear golden with a medium white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of buttery dill and fruits. Taste is tart and dry, offers fruits and white wine. Puckering. Body is medium and so is carbonation. Acidity is refreshing. Overall a good sour, I thought it would be a little better (for lack of a better word) though.

Bottle (375 ml). Split with the Quebec crew. From Matt, thanks!

Appearance: Clear bright golden with a small white head and some lacing.

Aroma: Quite fruity (berries, citrus, tropical fruits, green apples) with brettanomyces, oak, vanilla, floral notes and light buttery notes that dissipates after a few minutes.

Taste: Moderately sour and quite acidic with a night bright fruitiness, bold brettanomyces presence, oak and vanilla.

Palate: Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Bone dry finish.

Overall: I wasn’t sure at first, but after a few minutes it has gotten a lot better. Balance is good. It’s super dry and quenching, while still being quite tasty. Acidity is high, but not over the top. Nice oak features. Good Sour!

One of top 25 of Draft mag 2014, a perfect wild ale, hay, orange and slight lemon in aroma and even more in taste, slight earthy barnyard, perfect balance for a perfect brew.

Bottle thanks to Felipe! Pours clear orange, small fizzy white head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is very oaky, notes of Brett funk, some cherry, basement mustiness, damp leaves. Flavor has a touch of initial sweetness, drying out fast. Medium tart, puckering at first, light funkiness, notes of fruits, lemon and tons of oak. A bit earthy. Medium body, high carbonation.

375ml bottle acquired via trade on BA. Thanks. Pouyurs a dulled darker golden amber hue, a gentle haziness dulls it a touch but still a pleasant fall glow throughout and to the edges. Frothy offwhite head atop stays as a decent ringer, ok lacing overall. Aromas are fruity and tart, gentle funkiness grows as tannic wine barrel, vanilla and faint spirit, more reddish dryness hits touches of fruity ester, kiss of berry, yogurt, citrus and crab apple. Gentle pear and banana, cobwebs, some funkiness and dust, gentle horseblanket. Nice stuff, lively and complex. Initial is lighter end of the fold showing some nice fruity and sour fruit pushes initially, quickly letting a more tannic red wine barrel take over. Some cobwebs, dusty brett and yogurt with some grapeskin, some citrus rind and bitterness. Touches of berry, fruity ester and touches of warmth, vanillin, yogurt and lactic acidity as we start to get towards the backend. Bready malts, straw and bretty funk and fruit play. Just a dab of pineapple, dust and cheesecloth, almost a creaminess, fruity melange into the backend shows some decent complexity. Grape and fleshy berry and tannic skin, touches of sourness and funk, firmer barrel presence with just a touch of spirit warmth as we finish up. Tannic, dry, a bit bitter. Some good play here. Really flows through all the elements pretty well, more fruity and quickly into tannic barrel. Some creamy fruit complexity, more funky brett, gentle spiciness as we finish. Nice stuff. A bit different than the typical bright and vibrant light stuff I’m into, but it’s flow and complexity, incorporation of some deeper elements work well for me. Nose really wins me a bit, with that more tannic and sour feel but the beer itself is softened a bit initially and into the back. Nice.

Funkig US-suring. Får en vibb till Russian River. Grape. Stickig syra men ändå lätt och behagling. Bröderna Wallén står för denna raritet.
