An Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine; Helldorado has the lightest color of any of the beers in our barrel program but carries a great deal of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char and amazing lavender-honey notes. Rich boozy honey liqueur character and loads of smooth sweet toasted malt to finish. The El Dorado hops dance in the background without playing a dominant role in the flavor profile. This beer gets better and better the longer it is in barrel.

Drag at Ale House. Pours medium orange brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is very nice... Toffee, honey, bourbon, oak, with a bi of orange peel on top. Wow, tastes almost like a watered down bourbon cocktail . Very bourbon forward, oak, toffee, honey, a hint of orange. While the flavor is bourbon forward, and it obviously has a high abv, it drinks nice and smooth. Really liking this.

had a bottle and on draft, way less heat on tap .. . rich booze, hay, burnt sugar, and boozy grain .. . slick full mouth, heavy sweetness .. . sticky ending, good finish .. nice massive beer .. . . It’s hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.

Bottle:   Orangish in color, fairly vibrant, small to moderate frothy white head, little lacing.   Pale breadiness, melon, bourbon, and soft caramel on the nose.   Warming up front, lots of pale breadiness and melon, with a background of caramel.   Blonde Barleywine fits this one fairly well.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Strong pale breadiness and caramel on the finish, with melon and bourbon notes.   The caramel is surprisingly pale, its not like brown sugar like caramel.   More melon and marshmallow like sweetness.   Its on the verge of being cloying, but just short.   Fairly tasty.

Bottle. 2015 release. Amber pour with a tall, dense golden head. Aroma is Sweet malt, vanilla, hop notes, honey and candied fruit in the nose. Taste is sweet malt, light caramel, honey, toasted malt, vanilla, booze and subtle hops. Body is medium with a strong, dense, bubbly carbonation. Slightly sticky and warming due to the alcohol. Ends with more toasted malt, cookies, toasted coconut, sweet malt, caramel, candied fruit, hops, vanilla and light hops. Very nice!

Amber pour with a decent white head. Aroma of bourbon mostly, some honey, caramel, and barrel. Taste is big on that Firestone Walker barrel character, vanilla, wood, honey, and a bit of hops. Really sweet. Not my favorite barrel aged offering from Firestone but pretty good overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
