COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine; Helldorado has the lightest color of any of the beers in our barrel program but carries a great deal of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char and amazing lavender-honey notes. Rich boozy honey liqueur character and loads of smooth sweet toasted malt to finish. The El Dorado hops dance in the background without playing a dominant role in the flavor profile. This beer gets better and better the longer it is in barrel.

(Firestone Walker Helldorado) Bottle 650 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 13.2% Vintage 2015 Orange coloured body, nicely hazy, with a small and a bit thin white head on top, with average retention. Malty aroma, with apricots, peaches, sugars, some alcohol, red fruits, wood. Taste is sweet and malty, again with sugars, lots of apricot, less peach, alcohol, some vinous notes even every here and there, brandy, sherry, wood. Medium body, high carbonation, dry on the palate. Great barley wine.

Bottle, 2015 vintage. Pours a deep golden orange with a finger of white head. Inviting aroma of honey, vanilla, oak barrel, and floral hoppy bits. Tastes devine. Sweet vanilla and honey blended with oak barrel. A bit of hoppy bitterness, but a lot of sweet. Thick and chewy. Iíd buy this again for sure. A beautiful beer.

A little oxidized but sweet and stick on the nose. Very grainy with a hint of booze.quite fizzy, got a lovely, rich sherry flavor. Massive vanilla and a little oaky smoke. I like it actually, it has a long smooth character that offers a boozy burn. A complex beer, surprisingly palatable for the style.

Bottle at home (alone -- I definitely felt it the next day). Despite itís light color, this is as sweet and malty as the darkest barleywines out there. Lots of raisin and honey/caramel flavor on the tongue, which tricked me into thinking I was drinking a traditional barleywine. Still, the dominant flavor, even after a year, is the bourbon barrel -- strong oak and booze notes, which deepened everything else. Overall, this is fantastic.

Bottle: Poured a dark golden color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of strong residual sugar notes with some maple and vanilla notes. Taste is a heavy mix of strong residual sugar notes with some vanilla, maple and bourbon notes with strong cereal notes. Body is full with good carbonation and light alcohol notes are perceptible. Not bad but sweet as hell which makes it hard to drink in large quantities.

Kind of a strange brew that grew on me. The aroma had a lot of the barrel. The flavor had a bit of butterscotch. Burn hits the throat mid swallow. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
