3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2015 vintage 750 ml bottle.
Hazy golden, with a thin, rapidly fading head, no lace.
Aroma is fruity, vanilla, honey, very little hop aroma detected.
Flavor is sweet, honey, vanilla, tropical fruit, prickly alcohol.
Body is very light for a barley-wine, and very low IBUs . Glad I didn’t try to cellar it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark yellow, clear, no bubbles. Nose is barley wine but it’s light. Weird! Med/full body and mildly fizzy. White grapes and fruitcake. Crazy that this is a light barley wine.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy honey pour with a bright white ivory cap that left a spot or two of lacing inside of the glass. Loads of cotton candy, vanilla, caramel, candied citrus, oak, and barrel. The alcohol is noticeable but not terribly distracting. A good brew but not earth shattering...and I somewhat expect that from the brewery. A great beer to blend into their anniversary but not distinguishable on its’ own!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured up on tap at Whole Foods Chandler, AZ where it exhibits a clear deep gold body that supports a thin near white head. The modest aroma offers up some bourbon, vanilla and a sense sugary oak nuanced cotton candy. The taste delivers smooth forward bourbon booze and soft vanilla. Behind the boozy curtain are notes of oak, boozy sugary malts and some pear like sweet fruity esters. Boozy booze that seems on the boozy side. I get very little beer in this beer. This beer makes me miss beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Brewer’s Republic. Pours hazy golden amber with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like strong booze, dried dark fruits, vanilla, and light dry hops. Very intense. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like booze, dried dark fruits, and hops.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared 2015 bomber poured to snifters, displaying a hazed, orangey gold color, with a modest layer of bubbly, off white head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was malt sweetness, fruity, with a hint of cherry, and a combination of vanilla & coconut scent. The taste was booze, barrel hints, less esters than the aroma, and moderate, earthy bitterness. Flavor was as a mild bourbon. Tasty enough.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber (for the record, this says 13.2%, not 12% on the label). Shared this with Heather in Perrysburg, Ohio on our getaway 8-18-15. Pour is a golden brown, color of sugar cookies, medium head. Nose is caramel, butter toffee, whiskey barrel, date sugar, vanilla. Mouth is full and sticky, medium sweetness, all kinds of candy and booze, buttery and delicious. Tastes even better in a dimly lit hotel room with the woman of your dreams sharing it with you while Tesla is playing in the background. Just saying.
