COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our lightest ale is no light-weight when it comes to flavor. The addition of California produced Buckweat honey lends a subtle sweet accent to this smooth, Easy drinking ale. Great as an introduction to craft brewed beers or for those looking for a lighter beer that is low in bitterness. Honey lends a new and interesting dimension to beer. Goes well with lighter fare and is great on hot summer days.

(Editor’s Note: this is a private label beer that Firestone Walker allows bars and restaurants to relabel and sell as a house beer. If you have any honey blond brewed by Firestone Walker, please enter your rating here.)

From tap at Yards, Pasadena. Pours clear and golden blonde with lacing white head. Aroma is mild caramelish and light fruity too. Flavour is dry and light hoppy yet with a nice caramel malt base. Light tee-ish lasting finish. Mild and easy.

Tap @ Yard House Denver. Clear, golden orange appearance with a fluffy, off white head. Somewhat bitter, honey, tangy apple/pear fruity, effervescent aroma. Highly carbonated. Apple fruity, somewhat citrusy, light to moderately honey, sweet pale malty flavor. Carbonation seemed too high to me.

Tap at Yard House Downtown Denver. Transparent gold with a thin white head. Wheaty grainy aroma with a medium sweet honey undertone. Body is round and smooth with fine carbonation, with wheaty pale grain cereal flavors with a light honey sweetness underneath, becoming more prominent at the finish, ending like grainy honey.

On draft at some BBQ place in Paso. Pours a golden blond with big head. Aroma is slightly sweet but really nothing to speak of. Taste, light malt with again some slight sweet notes and no hop profile to speak of. Some distant biscuit. Overall, pass but would hope it can get non-craft drinkers to try something other than Bud Light.

Draft at the Yardhouse in Virginia beach. Light malt nose. Clear amber, medium head, some glass coating. Hay and lemongrass flavor. Mild DMS. Not very exciting.

The beer has a slight white head on it when poured. Golden amber color for the beer making it look great. That said the taste is slightly better the bud light and but nothing grand I expected from Firestone. Weak and watered down ale with a slight fruity taste.

(Draught) Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of honey, florals, and grain. Flavor of grain, honey, grass, and caramel.

On tap at the Fourth Street Bar and Grill (or something like that), SF. For a convention-land bar, by the way, this place was solid as hell, with Pliny and other RR deliciousness. Place rating aside, thought I’d check out a new Firestone offering and this was a really bland beer for this brewery. Lightly hopped with a decently fruity bouquet, the beer was a bit of a watery, grainy mess with just enough dry hops and light fruits to make it passable.

Tap at Bar Food on Wilshire Blvd. Pours a light blond. Did not detect too much aroma. Tastes light, a little grassy. Easy to drink.

As Union Honey Blond. Clear golden coloured beer with some light carbonation and a short white ehad. Short hoppy sweet hinted aroma. Medium palate. Finish is light bitter sweet with some short honey flavoured hints. Medium.

Sample at the Yard House in Vegas (as Yard House Blonde). Pours a pale gold color with a medium thin white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and honey. Light body with flavors of molasses, bready malt, honey and a touch of hops. The finish is sweet with a short malt aftertaste. Average overall.
