(Template) Tasted either at NotB or EBF. There’s no way I could have taken proper notes on all the great beer I tasted within those 24 hours so I will just let the Aroma,Appearance,Taste,Palate,Overall scores speak from themselves.

Pouring at the Saturday afternoon session of EBF. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Floral grapes, skins. Light toast, grape skins again. Acid, tart and lightly sweet. More tart acid leads into some slightly early chewy grain notes on the finish.

Reviewed from notes.
Pours clean blonde color with a good white head and a ring or two of lacing on the way down. The nose carries some oak and light acidity plus a bit of white wine. Fairly strong sourness comes around along with a bit of funk. The flavor is fairly-funky and brings some white-wine acidity as well as a bit of lemon. Oak comes in as well. Mouthfeel is really nice with the acidity pairing well with a bit of a tannic presence. Really tasty and another solid experiment into the wild category from Firestone. I really hope this becomes a bigger program in the future.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 wedgie9 (1370) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 7, 2010
Tasted on draft at FoBAB. Pours cloudy orange with a thick white head that leaves thick lace. The nose is buttered popcorn, light yeast, and white grapes. This smells like an over-oaked 100% malo California Chardonnay. It tastes the same with the buttered popcorn, somewhat creamy, and just a bit of saison yeast letting me know that I am, in fact, still drinking beer and not Sonoma Cutrer. The body is light with lively carbonation and a long buttered popcorn finish.

A damn fine beer, I would drink it until my liver gave way. Nothing offensive at all, just beer bliss. Would get again fo sho.
super dry and very drinkable, not the best saison, but one of the most drinkable ones.

A: The pour is a clear golden color with a finger’s worth of white foam.
S: The nose is fairly fruity (tropical and stone fruits) and sweet with nice notes of citrus and a light hoppiness.
T: The flavor is similarly fruity with lemon, peaches, and apricot? Some wheat and a light breadiness give the beer some backbone and a touch of bitterness for balance.
M: The body is fairly light with a refreshing, crisp carbonation.
D: I’ve been looking forward to trying this beer for awhile and it was actually pretty nice. If only Firestone would actually make these beers available more often.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CheersMate (1260) - Fremont (Seattle), Washington, USA - MAR 18, 2010
Had this on tap at Toronado. Translucent yellow-haze appearance. Head fades away quickly. Subtle fruit aroma along with some yeast. Not aromatic whatsoever. Generally, I like a Saison to have a funk/sour/fruit mixture, but this is geared towards being slightly fruity and boring. Flavor is light fruit and sweet yeast. Slight touches of some citrus are coming and going. Not substantially creamy i.e. the texture is kind of lame. The beer is decent, just extremely boring. A sweet sugary flavor is starting to develop. Meh...this beer is just a boring Saison lacking much needed character.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SledgeJr (3579) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 7, 2010
On tap at Downtown Johnny Brown. Pours hazy gold with a thick white head of good retention. Has a mild earthy aroma with a tinge of sourness. Flavor is nicely tart with a mild sour finish. The beer produces a bread dough aroma at warming. It has an interesting sweetness. Towards the end of the beer it tastes a bit like a lime lollipop
