On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of brett, along with oak and Belgian yeast. Flavour is very funky, with spicy dry yeast, oak barrels, and finishing dry and biscuity. Dry, medium funky, and lightly spicy on the finish. Good stuff, though not as complex as classic Firestone Walker beers.

Une base de saison rustique et sauvage avec une veine grasse et délicieusement brettée. Des agrumes enrobées d’un film carambolesque et une touche délicate lactique. Buvabilité adorable.

On draft at Blue Monkey. Nice notes of bright fruit, wood, bread and some vino. It was okay. Body was a tad thin.

375ml bottle pours clear yellow orange with medium small head. Nose has lots of funky dry oak, tart white grape and lemon orange citrus, hay funk. Palate is oak forward with extremely well balanced acidty, dusty orange and lemon skin tartness, some white wine fruit, touch of doughy vanilla oak, light hay funk. Finishes dry, tart, crisp acidity, madarin orange, citrus, smooth oak, funk. Awesome.

On tap at the Beer Baron. It pours orange with a white head. The aroma is pretty funky with toasty, spicy brett, stone fruit and tangerines. The flavor is not as tart with lots of farmhouse funk, bread and a spicy/prickly mouthfeel that’s very thin and kind of seltzery. Mild stone fruit tartness and hints of buttery barrel notes in the finish. I like the funkiness of this brew, but its too thin and lacks that tart kick that I like in sour ales.

Almost clear golden colour, white head. Sour aroma, citric, light wood. Sour flavour, light malts, hint bourbon. Sour finish, hint bourbon.

Tap at the Beer Authority. Listed at 4.9%.

I’ve wanted to try this one for quite a while and am delighted to have the chance. Oh man does it ever live up to expectations. Funky nose melts oak and sour lacto character beautifully. The brett comes on stronger in the flavor, lovely wood without too much vanilla, a tiny bit thin at first sip but quickly becoming utterly satisfying despite the relatively low ABV. Little in the way of fruity esters or mineral, just a delightful slightly sour woody saison. Absolutely beautiful. I wish it wasn’t $9 for 10oz and $60 for a growler, otherwise I would have gone home with an awful lot of it. This could easily have gone 4.4 -- I hope to revisit and verify.

Draft at Beer Authority, Seattle. Bright warm gold, thick white foam. Bretty sweet, toast grain. Mild body, some sweet Brett. Tasty, if a little ambiguous.

375ml bottle acquired via trade on BA. Thanks. Drank after a regular Opal. Pours a deeper near transparent golden hue, a bit darker with a faint amber darker tinge. Cascading bubbly streams through the body. Cakey whitish head atop is a firm thick layer, good stick around and lacing. Aromas show more juicy pear and citrus, touches of melon, oak and cobwebs. Gentle vanillin grows firmly, a bit of straw, tartness on the nose with richer white wine elements, green grapes and touches of melon sticking firmly onto the nose. Lush fruit, crisp with nice barrel, refreshing white wine, mellow tartness and funk with touches of cheesecloth, mellow lactic yogurty jabs. Initial is lighter end of the fold, firmer funk and cobwebs meet tannic oak, white wine and grapeskin, touches of wine, horseblanket, cobwebs and straw. A firm dryness, some funk and rosehips, gentle lactic sourness hits the palate. Earthy dry feeling washes over with melon, cheesecloth, dry bready malts. White grape, touches of melon, tartness as we move on. Some funky brett, dryness. Gentle straw, dry bready malts. Crisp, clean and funky with nice white wine influence, nice fruity melange up front still leaves this dry and quite crushable. Remarkably enjoyable with some nice barrel influence, funk and wine with gentle tartness, yogurty jabs, firmer fruit and middle up front as the barrel, funk and a more dry crisp finish makes this one quite refined overall. Remarkably well crafted stuff here, I think.

On tap at FoBAB, numbers are right, descriptions are difficult to read. Poured yellow with min head. Aroma full of funky grains. Light carb med bod. Pretty tart sourness for taste. Nice to try
