Tap at the Toronado SF. Not a bad little beer. Bartender was right, this is a saison. Very good little session beer, could drink this all day. Not bad.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2009 Draught at the brewery tasting room. Hazy gold with a creamy white head. Wheat malt and herbal spice aroma. Duusty, doughy yeast, wheat tanginess. Pretty dry and refreshing, a bit fruity with lightly biter herbal hops in the finish. Light bodied, but still plenty of body considering the abv. Snappy carbonation. The wheat character is hight, with just a bit of farmhouse yeast influence, but overall a good summer quaffer. I could definitely session this one. (3.4)
rerate: At the brewery again. This year it seems to be smoother and fruitier with more spice as well. A very nice, very drinkable saison.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at San Diego Brewing Company. Aromas of yeast and some citrus. Touches of spice come out more in the flavor. Actually kinda boring for a style I usually like.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample at PP Carlsbad; color was a clear, toasted yewllow; compact white head. Aroma was of musty wheat and earth, with some fruit notes. Very soft on the palate. Flavor of spicy wheat and bread, with some spice/herbal, almost lavender like. It was a bit too straightforward and not great tasting for me.

A nice Belgian light spice to the aroma. The flavor on this one is great. A bit of spice and hops throughout, this one was pretty tasty.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft... RBSG... Clear, light golden ale with a small white head. Belgian-esque, spicy, fruity nose. Medium-bodied with dancing carbonation. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet, moderately acidic... obviously well-balanced. Fruity, lightly sweet, mildly tangy finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at 21st Amendment. Cloudy dark straw color with a thin uneven white head. Sweetish grainy start, a suggestion of peppery spice but very mild. Slightly chalky mouthfeel. Aroma of spent grain and very lightly toasted bread. Pretty subtle, nothing outstanding, particularly as a saison.
