3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 14, 2013 Updated 4.14.2013 at Barrelworks. Was told this is "totally different" from previous batches. (New rate?) Pours a hazy golden with big white head. Aroma is funky with a cheese and pasture going on with a sour note. Taste is more funky cheese and barnyard, followed by a mild sour and then grain and a hard to pick up fruit bill. The sourness isn’t high on this one and the funk really makes up for it. Very much a different beer from what I remember.
Old: Stone Sour Fest 2012 - Draft. pours a medium golden. Spice and an odd floral aroma, almost spruce. Very little barrel in the taste with more random spice and floral notes. Very similar to Saison du Buf but in a more spice forward way which seems hard to do.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle thanks to Ontape ! Pours a ripe golden color with two fingers of white foam. Nose is really inviting... rustic grain, stonefruit, tart lemon, straw a bit of spicy oak and citrus pith. Palate follows with nice lively carbonation that works with the heavy oak undertones to create a round mouthfeel with tiny bubbles scrubbing the flavors from front to back. Nice rustic fieldgrass and straw, dusty oak, lacto and mysterious foggy vinous fruit.

Bottle, from brewery. Real good aroma, sweet and funky. Citrus, on the lemon and grapefruit side, oak, Brett. Tad hazed orange gold color, good head that disappeared quickly, no lace. medium sour flavor. Medium body, thick creamy mouthfeel, dry sweet finish. Darn nice aroma has a nice sweet streak as it warms, flavor more tart, nice on the finish. Good stuff

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
My Bottom Line:
Citrus fruit splashes and air-filled haystacks whip up a tart and refreshing Wild Saison.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the hazy blond.
-The flavor intensity isn’t through the roof, which I appreciate.
-Citrus fruitiness is redolent of starfruit and lemon.
-Drinkability is extremely high.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Gold pour with a white head. This is a very oaky and tart saison. Not overly sour but the oak is the star. Has a lot of flavors similar to Feral One...just less sour. Really really good.
